Evolv DNA 12 VV/VW Board Questions

Hello ECF,

Just about to bread board a dna20 and dna 12 to mess around with the evolve products, looking at the pinouts for the dan12 it doesn't seem to have any feedback for the user. Am I missing something here?

How does the user know what voltage/wattage he's at, and how does the user change modes....

I'm thinking for voltage, I can just measure the mod when potentiometer is at a specific point and mark 3.5v etc... just like an ego-c (twist), but how would a user change to vW mode, and how would they know what wattage etc..

any ideas, or am I completely missing something.

There isn't a VV mode or user feedback - just wattage controlled by the pot, and indicated (approximately) by the position of the pot knob/screw.

thanks john, I've already read the datasheet,

I was under the impression that it was switchable VV/VW.. I realize it's only VW now, but that doesn't change anything re: the pot....

I guess I'll have to install a pot and take readings of the wattage output and then make marks on the device. Without feedback there is no way to know what power output you are out.

If I where a betting man I would say that's an atmega chip in the BG with an oled breakout board with it's display driver attached on back communicating over i2c....

got quite a few display drivers laying around here, might hash something up also.

Thing is...without all the fancy schmancy display stuff...could the DNA12 could be shoehorned into a small 2x AA battery box and make a once simple regulated 3.7vdc (or straight thru voltage) into a VW rig?

They already have a 3xAA battery box VV mod
