Anyone else get a deep phlegm-y cough from vaping?

When i first started and hadn't been to this forum or anything
i sorta imagined myself into a tizzy over the intentional inhalation of vapor,
thinking it might produce something kin to pneumonia if it sat in my lungs.
Didn't happen and i was OK for a long time but lately i've hacked up some big loogies,
roundabout bedtime, usually.

I think perhaps it's because my vape has been harsh.
Mixing my own liquid for the most part, and don't always get it right.
Plus i've taken to the newfangled 510 cartomizers,
and those can get sorta "burnt" if you let them run dry before refill.

I guess i'm just hoping to reassure myself, that what i'm coughing up is in fact phlegm from irritation or something
and i'm not gonna drown in vegetable glycerin or propylene glycol.

Did some research on this after I read your post, Joe.
What I found, is what I think you prolly already know:

"When people give up smoking, the cilia in the lungs that were paralyzed by the smoke begin to regenerate, and thereafter begin cleaning the contaminants that have accrued. This varies from person to person, but can take some months to settle."

Sounds like your lungs may have had a mess to clean up to me. =)

Yeah well i did have 40+ years worth of gunk in my lungs
so it'd be nice to think that this is only just me getting healthier.

Only this started happening at a time when my life is rather... chaotic,
and i'm vaping quite a bit more than usual.
I'd almost cut out the nicotine and i could almost take it or leave it,
but now i'm solidly back in my addiction.

Inhaling an extraordinary amount of vapor, and given the volume of goopus i cough up,
it was getting worrisome.

But anyway just for those who might not be following along the hugemungous thread at E-Cigarette Forum > E-Cigarette Technical > Ecigarette Technical Issues > Cartomizer Issues > Burning Cartomisers? Dangerous?-E9/VK/bloog/totem/808/DPV9/Smoke51...etc, have a look at this:

I started coughing before i got the cartomizers but i'm sure they ain't helping matters.
They are definitely irritating once they get burnt.

I do not use cartomisers and sometime after a heavy vaping session with AC, menthol or other spicy liquid I have a cough.

I'm a 9 month vaper, I have reduced the mg a lot but I find it difficult not to INCREASE vaping ! True, it is way less toxic than a real cigarette but PG is an irritant and the same is true with some flavours.
