Excess coughing

Hi all. I just hooked a friend up with an Infinity Pro for Xmas, and he seems to be having some difficulty vaping. For background, the guy is a longtime smoker, and before getting the mod from his wife for xmas, smoked 2 packs of menthol cigarettes a day. The liquid I got him to go with this was from the vaporcast store (shout out), and I'm pretty sure is a PG/VG blend. Doesn't say on the site. It is all at 24mg strength.

The problem he is having, is he is coughing his head off whenever he takes a hit. He knows about the voltage dial, so I doubt he's hitting it at 5V. I can't say how much he is smoking since xmas, as I haven't talked to him personally. I do know I gave him some spare buttery popcorn juice that I had laying around, and that is really mild but also at 24mg strength. It also makes him cough, but apparently his wife can vape the popcorn just fine.

I'm thinking he may be PG intolerant. If it was quitters hack, I think he would be coughing all the time, rather than just when he vapes.

Just curious what everyone thinks. I really want to get this guy off cigs, so I hope I can find an adequate resolution. Your ideas and input are greatly appreciated as always.

Most of us had to learn to draw on an E-cig a little differently than an analog. You might suggest he tries pulling a drag into his mouth and holding it there a second before inhaling. I was hacking like crazy before somebody here told me this.

Also, what is he using for juice delivery? Personally, I found fillered cartos and cartomizers just killed me. Coughing, bronchial spasms, the works. Dripping doesn't bother me, nor does top coil wicked designs, but anything with a filler pretty well leaves me feeling miserable.

Have him try this...draw into his mouth, open mouth a little, then inhale. If he's trying to draw straight in or without little air mixed in, it can be seriously irritating.
