I explained in another post why I actually have a pack of Djarums, :( but now that I have them, I was wondering if anyone has tired to use them for a tobacco extract? I currently have the tobacco from one cig sitting in a 6ml bottle filled with vodka. It is already stating to smell good. I plan on letting it sit until half the liquid is evaporated. I then plan on adding VG to the mix once this happens, and let it sit for a while longer before I strain and add more VG and taste. I am still new to DIY anything, and my only back round in extraction techniques is from homebrew. I am not concerned about the nic of one cig, this is more for a taste experiment, and if it is something I like I can adjust from there.

Well, an update since I posted this. What I did Is I look all the tobacco from 1 djarum, and let it sit for about 5 days 6ml of vodka, until most of the alcohol evaporated, and I was left with a thick "syrup " like tobacco mixture. Then I added another cig to this mixture, and filled up my bottle with PG and let it sit for another 5 days. At the same time, I took another empty bottle and ground up a handful of clove and let it soak in some PG. I took the cigarette mixture and boiled some water and let the bottle sit for roughly 2 min to loosen it up a bit and then filtered it using a coffee filter. I did the same thing with the pure clove mixture. What I was left with is about 4 ml of djarum tobacco mixture, and 5 ml of the clove mixture. The filtered tobacco mixture almost looked pure black when I was finished. I took about a drop and tasted it, and it was very strong, so I mixed it with ~2ml of vg. I put it in a fresh atty and vaped. It was good, but as I assumed the clove was very lacking, and actually the tobacco was not that present. It tasted more like vaping earthy molasses then a djarum. I then vaped the clove mixture, and it was very much like a perfume and chemical like, but with a very strong clove flavor as well. I took my last empty bottle, and mixed ~1 ml of my clove mixture, ~4ml of my djarum mixture, and ~1 ml of pure VG. I shook it up and let it sit over night. I vaped about 4 drops next morning, and it was very very good. Tasted just like I was actually smoking a djarum. However, I believe that something in this mixture might of triggered a migraine. I could be wrong, because I get migraines so randomly and I have migraine meds for it, that it could of been just a day that I was going to get one anyways. I have not touched it since because I am worried that it might trigger another migraine, but I have smelled it as it sits an matures and it smells wonderful. All in all, other then the migraine, my experiment is a success. Also I believe this mixture to be ~20 mg of nic for the whole tobacco mixture, so ~4mg per ml of the finished mixture. That is assuming that there is 10mg of free nic per cig. I read that you only get about 10% of nicotine that is actually in the cig when you smoke it, so that is 1mg from what I have read on djarums. Maybe someone who is more knowledgeable on this subject can chime in on this, because I could be doing my calculations completely wrong and there is way more/less nic.

Wow you are awesome for posting on this and trying it! I actually came here to ask if anyone has tried this and first thread answered my question :D!

It's funny because I also get migraines on a daily basis [betas] and have found to get migraines when I do some wierd DIY stuff. I tried extracting snus packets before and got a migraine. I got a migraine also from using regular clove juice. I pretty much get one when I try to 'taste' flavors and not just vape them normally. When I 'taste' juices when I mix I just go too hard on myself if ya know what I mean ;). Too much nic/flavor/ect in a short period I guess.

Anyways I'm going to experiment some on some clove juices from the ecig community and I'll keep in touch. As for the djarum extraction, grab some Triptans and try to just enjoy the flavor like you normally would. Load it up and vape it when you forget whats in the atty. Just take it easy ;)

From the various reports of chemists here, there is not all that much nic in a cigarette, even before it's burnt. If you get 10% of the nic in any cigarette when you ignite and inhale it, and that's only about 1mg, then maybe there could be 10mg in a cig.

So you'd need three of four cigs worth per 1ml of finished e-liquid to make it worthwhile. Far too expensive and inefficient, plus you're going to get all the other rubbish in there that they put in cigarettes - and it's a ton of junk.

Seems to me it needs raw tobacco leaf, some serious lab glassware, and the right solvent. Plus a knowledge of how to get rid of the solvent from the result. To make this worthwhile, you'd need to be getting a ton of nic out. Most of us just do it for the flavor I reckon.

However I have got to be honest, adding VG-extracted gloop to my e-liquid did seem to make it much more like a cigarette effect for anti-cravings, so maybe some of the stuff in it does help. Perhaps some of the WTAs make it out.
