Exhaling Vapor?

Hey guys!
Been lurking on the forums for a few weeks and awaiting my first E-cig to arrive. Finally got here today. I ordered a Joye 510 from VaporKings and a few flavors from JuicyVapors. I blew out the primer and cleaned my attys in vodka before I even attempted my first vape.
I have tried several of the flavors initially by dripping. Everything seems to go well but when I exhale I do not get any vapor. Is this normal? In all the videos I have seen it seems the user exhales a ton of vapor just like smoking an analog. I can feel it pull in but when I exhale nothing come out. Is this something that happens when you do not fully inhale?

Thanks!

I think the 510 attys take a while to break in even if you wash them.

Also, I suspect smoke/vapor shows up better on digital video, and it shows up better when you're looking at the person's mouth than when you're looking at what comes out of your own mouth.

And, as already noted, vapor soaks into your lungs quicker than smoke. Holding in a puff will make it much less impressive than if you just blow it out right away.

One thing I realized is that some people do "lung hits" and some do "mouth hits". The lung hit is like a long slow inhale straight from the e-cig to your windpipe, but the mouth hit is like with a cigarette or a straw where you take it in by sort of sucking on it and then inhale what's in your mouth down into your lungs.

I found that if I lung hit it, I get a ton more vapor (both in and out) with a much more noticeable throat blast. It's a little too intense for me, so I do the mouth hits and I'm satisfied with what I can take into my mouth in a nice slow draw.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the VG liquid makes more vapor for me. I know the Ecopure gives me a cloud, and so do some of the VG flavored liquids. I think the slower you draw the more the atomizer gets to work on the fluid to vaporize it.

(Edit: If you think you're not getting much vapor, try stealth vaping at work. You'll be amazed how much vapor is hanging in the air 10 seconds later!)

Of course, I've been vaping less than a week, so I'm giving you a newbie's point of view. I do know, though, that I've been satisfied with my 510 since I first fired it up, and the amount of vapor feels perfect to me.

Acidghost, I am the same; been lurking for weeks on here and finally bought a sidesho from Modern Vapor. I didn't clean the atty's though. I just started using them. I am having the same problem, not near as much vapor as it appeared on youtube. Thanks to the ones that responded. I am on day three so I need to give it some more time maybe. Modern Vapor's customer service was awesome though. I hope I can get them to work better soon. I can say that I haven't smoked near as many analogs since playing with my ecig....that is a good sign for me!

With a 510 you should be getting LOTS of vapor. Soaking your attys in Vodka may not have been a good idea, but hopefully your attys are still okay. (There's a lot of debate here about whether submerging your attys in liquid is a good or bad thing.)

Trouble-shooting: 1) Make sure your batteries are good. 2) Next, just in case you might have flooded your atty with juice, unscrew it from the battery and mouthpiece and blow hard into the atty through the end with the hole in it into the trash or sink until it finishes dropping juice out. 3) Make sure the filling in the cart/mouthpiece isn't stuffed too tight in there. Leave it a little loose in the middle (wrap your filler around a toothpick so when you take the toothpick out there will be a little hole in the middle of the filler. 4) Drip some juice on the filler until the last drop makes a little pool at the top. Now....

Puff....suck in very softly and slowly for about 6 or 8 seconds while holding the button down and see if you get vapor. You should be getting lots of vapor with your 510, or any other manual (button) device. Good luck!

Crankyfuzz, I bought some ejuice and preloaded carts, they didn't last long. I have just been putting the ejuice in the cartridge, should I put some on the atty too?

Put about 2 or 3 drops on atty to prime it up really helps with the taste the preloaded carts go really fast. Also when refilling the carts try using a paper clip to push around the filler makes it easier to get more liquid in there.

My only other suggestion and this is personal preferance when you feel more comfortable with your 510 to look into the pyramid tea bad mod (PTB) found here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/cartridge-mods/34401-ptb-plug-full-510-cart.html

go thru the whole thread as the method evols quit a bit further on is the end result I love the PTB mod as you fit more liquid in get better hits and not have to worry about the poly fill hitting the atty

Give it a few days. My 510 didn't really impress me at first either. I was certain the one I ordered was defective. Though I stuck with it and got it broke in and finally started getting good vapor. Then after I was more comfortable and watched a few videos I attempted the straw mod, which really livened the thing up.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I popped on one of the carts that was packaged with my 510, the apple one. Started it up and instantly had copious amounts of vapor. I suppose it is just the difference in e-juices. The flavors I ordered might have had less PG in them.
I am very satisfied so far. Haven't smoked since I got it.
