Experimenting with % and tobacco flavors?

I'm really thinking of starting a blog on here, just because it's hard to keep track of the shipments, experiments, and advice, heh. But here goes another (we'll see how many) questions:

I don't think I can do 100% PG, too much of a reaction. So, I went with 100% VG from a couple of reputable suppliers, and while the product is pretty yummy, and the vapor could clear a room, the zero TH at 12mg is a deal breaker. In my analog life, I smoked Basic Menthol Ultralight 100s, since they had a smooth taste but also a little kick. So...now I'm ordering a few flavors from companies with mixes of VG/PG (all around 70/30 and 60/40, how daring). Has anyone had the symptoms from PG sensitivity come back with these %? I also upped the nic to 18mg, just in case.

Also, tip for newbies: think about base flavors. Like toffee and waffles: I don't like the taste of butter, but I like Heath toffee, and I like waffles (but I don't add butter to them). Guess what the flavors I ordered of toffee/waffles taste like? Yep, butter. Lesson learned: think about the components of flavor profiles.

Last question (I think): has anyone who wasn't a big tobacco flavor fan ended up with "tobacco" flavors as their fav vape? I read about the opposite all the time (smoker who discovers fruit/baked goods), but don't hear much the other way. I ask because I ordered a honey flu-cured liq from liquidxpress for a family member (PG), took a test vape to set up the ecig for her (she's a noob), and loved the taste of it. Nutty, honey, kept smacking my lips together. I have his VG version on the way, but I'm holding off on getting excited, since all the other VGs have been kinda meh.

First of all, regarding butter flavor, there's a huge and vitriolic controversy ongoing in these parts about diacetyl, a flavoring component commonly used in ejuice to mimic butter flavor. I'm not going to open that can of worms, but you should be aware of it: Diacetyl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I'm curious as to what sort of reaction you're up against with PG. If throat hit is an issue, that would otherwise be the way to go.

On the tobacco thing, there was a thread going around not so long ago about people going full circle: starting with tobacco flavor only because that's what came with their starter kit, moving on to every kind of crazy flavor in creation--if only because they could, and couldn't with analogs--then drifting back to various formulations of tobacco flavors; no, you're not alone on that.

the VG mix is something each has to figure out as you now know. Started with tab flavors and kind of got off of them after a while. I think going from tobacco flavors to non-tobacco flavors help you quit analogs

for me now I do have some tobacco flavors that i use in the morning when the analog monkey is on my shouder - seems to work

Thanks for the butter info, PC. I looked into it, and the suppliers I ordered from do not use diacetyl (that's some scary stuff right there)! Maybe it's a good thing I don't like butter too much.

As for PG effects: extreme dry throat and mouth, nose so dry it started to bleed, really dry lips. This was after drinking around 10-12 glasses of water a day. I first chalked it up to high altitude/low humidity environment, but VG only solved it completely.

Update: that Johnson Creek Red Oak VG line that I vaped for a week out of desperation while waiting for the other juice orders to arrive has redeemed itself! It has a TH, but a really strong wood smoke flavor. Add it to non-TH juices, and voila! Taste, TH, and VG!
