Good find!

"They’re controversial: Some experts believe that at a time when cigarette smoking has finally become passe in popular culture, e-cigarettes may re-glamorize puffing away in public places. Cigarette sales could surge."

This needs to go, though. I don't know why they keep spewing this same load of bull. 'Some experts' is like 2 people. Just because e-cigs are becoming popular doesn't mean that cigs are. :/ Dumb 'experts'.

I read this piece the other day, and it struck me as pure propaganda. Trying to convince the public that 0% smoking rates are within our grasp and that harm reduction is a threat to progress in this direction. We are not even close to that goal, and to think so is complete delusion (or a lie).

Their speculation that e-cigarettes will spark a resurgence of tobacco cigarettes is way off-mark. They are making that assumption without doing their research. PV's do not look like cigarettes, therefore will not make cigarettes more acceptable. Most of us here are glad to move away from something that looks like a cigarette, just because cig's have such an obnoxious smell.

Yes!
I also don't like the stigma attached to cigalikes. Usually people see it and assume you're smoking.

The only reason experts are talking "endgame" is e-cigs. It has nothing to do with smoking bans, tobacco free kids etc...The smoking rate has been pretty on the level for a long time, until the introduction of e-cigs.
ExCtly! They know this, which is why in 3/4 of the articles they trample the eCigs and declare that raising taxes is the only proven method.
They pat themselves on the back while killing the millions who would have switched to THR had they not of been scared off by their bull.

Did you all see vape tv live where dr. Farsalinos discovered that cells actually thrived and multiplied. He showed them on the monitor. The smoke cells died. The nicotine/eCig cells thrived.
Have you seen the studies that show that nicotine restores brain damage?
Have you seen the studies that show how nicotine enhances cognitive skills, focus, reduces Alzheimer's, etc?
To me, that says, take away the nicotine and all you have left is the killer stuff.

This might be it. The super long episode has been edited into separate shorter ones. Type in dr. Farsalinos at YT and hopefully find the really long uncut version.
Vaping News: Seeing the effects of Tobacco Smoke and Ecig Vapor on Heart Cells - YouTube

That's the one. The monitor looksee starts at around 16 and the summary at around 22-4.

11mg showed 3000% increase in live cells.

The skeptic in me thinks there are too many dollars at stake - I think they want to regulate it, make it unacceptable by society, but still have revenue from it. It is really the only explanation I can think of for the pushback against e-cigs.

Add the fact that big Pharma wants nicotine all to themselves for their patents on the "smart pill", " Parkinson's pill", "Alzheimer's pill" ... Etc..,

They shouldn't be allowed to patent any medication if you ask me. Money hungry censored words.

Ps. Here's the smart pill ... Science’s obsession: The search for a “smart pill” - Salon.com

I hear you. I think the medical industry actually has a conflict of interest when it comes to curing diseases. I had a job interview last year with a company that sold only diabetes supplies. He was so excited about how profitable T2 diabetes has become. I was so disgusted, I totally "threw" the interview. For many years the major diabetes orgs were telling people that it could not be cured or reversed - But I do personally know people who have done just that via lifestyle changes... and now it's finally coming out... by golly if you take care of yourself, the body will often (not always but often) heal.

I can't help but wonder if it's the same thing with these groups that supposedly advocate for people to quit smoking. By golly there is a an effective and inexpensive way to stop using tobacco - OMG let's ban it.

Well, that's pretty much putting the hammer right on the head of the nail.

It's time to stop wondering and realize that you're 100% correct.

Have you joined CASAA yet?
