Expiration dates on e-liquid

What does it mean?
Does the nicotine lose potency?
Does the flavor become funky?
Does the flavor dissipate?
Are there ill effects from using expired e-liquid?
Has anyone ever had any effects from what was known to be old e-liquid?

What’s the big secret here?
Are we really expected to trash our stock every one to two years and replenish it?

I once got some so fresh that the manufacture date was 4 days away still when it came in the mail!!!!!!!!!

So... That's what it means. lol
