lol someone didn't read the ECF library.
For someone who is new, it isn't always clear that you can't drip with a cartomizer. Also the cart (cartridge) vs carto (cartomizer) is a very common confusion topic among new vapers.
Not all Angles fly at the same speed when they first get their wings.
What is the difference in an atty and a cartomizer? Is the cartomizer just a larger atty? Doesn't it allow you to drip more juice? Can't I just replace my current atty with a cartomizer?
Atomizer is the heating coil/element that vaporizes the nicotine liquid. Atomizers are meant to be re-used and not immediately disposed.
Cartridge is used in conjunction with an atomizer and holds the juice supply.
Cartridges need an atomizer because they have no built in heating coil.
A cartomizer is a one piece combination cartridge with a built in atomizer coil. So they do not require an additional atomizer to function.
You do not always need a cartridge to use an atomizer. Bypassing the cartridge to vape is called is "dripping." There are several ways that people prefer to "drip." It is a current discussion topic and a little re
search will give you all the past topics you need.

Generally in the place of a cartridge a vaper will use a "drip tip" as an open mouthpiece instead of a cartridge.
Cartridges and Cartomizers are meant to be disposable, however you can rehabilitate them after first use and refill as needed. Refilling some cartos can be a hassle at first. Practice makes it easier. There are several ways to refill a carto as there are to refill a cart. Carts can also be refilled via several different methods, because they are not a combination they can be/seem easier to refill.
The C-E2 cartomizers require a syringe that one would use in arts and crafts, and of pure opinion are easier to refill. Also they don't have some flavors become muted due to filler absorbency like the cartos with filler. You'll have five people state they love "LR" (low resistance) cartomizers and atomizers more than regular. You'll see just as many people have an opinion to the contrary. Some people love them, others hate them.
You are going to have to find your preference. Cartos are great if you need to grab something and run and can't be bothered with anything but attach and go. Carts and dripping are just as good if you are in a position where it is not an inconvenience to do so.
Also what is a 306 cartomizer?
510/KR808/801/901/DSE901/905/306/RN4075/4081/401/L88
All model numbers that match the threads of the atomizer and/or cartomizer to the battery/batteries that it can work with. They also identify the battery itself in terms of design and voltage.
Example: A 901 atomizer can work on a KR808 battery and a 901 battery. A KR808 cartomizer won't work on a 901 battery because of restricted airflow in the design differences at the threads. Also KR808 cartomizer and a 901 atomizer will not fit on a 510 battery. Same applies with a 901/808 not working on a 510 charger. Some threads might be the same but the charger won't work because of polarity (+/-) so not all matching threads will mean cross-compatible equipment. Vice versa if the atty and/or carto are 510, they won't fit on the 808/901. (At least not without an adapter.) But some 901 cartridges will fit an RN4075 atomizer. - You get the idea.
When starting out, a newbie trying to decipher the model numbers just end as if they are reading a really bad IQ test question

:
If cakes are considered to be chocolates, and some chocolates are strawberries, then all cakes are strawberry chocolates.
This statement is:
A.) True
B.) False
C.) Neither A or B
So don't worry about specific model parts until you decide you are likely to buy that model.
I like LR and I am really a fan of the C-E2's for when I have to use cartos. Otherwise carts are okay but I prefer to drip. With that said: I generally recommend to starters to hold off on dripping until you are comfortable, because it is very easy to flood and/or fry an atty if you don't know what you are doing. Exposure and experience more or less teach you what
not to do.
