You may not "like" the "dripping thing" but it is actually not much different than anything else. IMO vertical wick setups introduce a complexity into the situation that may not be ideal for someone who is not sold on the idea of RBAs to begin with. At <$10 out the door, a dripper rba is a good way to check out the scene. Most dripper RBAs will take half a mil or so as well, so it's not like they have no juice capacity.

Yep dr g I went thru the dripping stage of vaping 2 years ago and am quite familiar with dripping.....as I said dripping is not for me....I'm not new to vaping and the rba is not complex compared to many of my experiences over the past 2.5 years....it is just a process I have not tried...rba's are not rocket science but are just another way to vape....so we will see if it is something I will enjoy...... :D:D:D

And explain, in detail the difference... please

from what I remember about dripping you take a bottle of juice and drip a certain amount of juice into a certain area of the atomizer and vape till you need to drip some more juice into the atomizer....and you carry around a bottle of juice all the time so you won't get a dry hit.

I've been trying to think of a good analogy but no dice. To use yet another marginal one, it's like the difference between dribbling gas down your carburetor to drive around and having a fuel cell on a race car.

EDIT: At the moment I'm blowing my mind with a rebuilt kanger (clone) head. Got one in an EVOD (clone) just eating up 20 watts. I did not think such a thing was possible!

Hey Bap....have you ever used Silica Sleeving over the wick? Wondering pro/con.......getting ready to order rsst and etc.

Yeah (I think anyway...I think that is what mamu's chimi wick is). I'm not the biggest silica fan for flavor, but I think a lot of people have good luck doing so.

+1 on a well oxidized ss cable
I love ss mesh but cable is an artist at delivering every nuance of flavor
ss mesh is only an apprentice, silica is not even considered
cables one fault is having to tip but thats just for a huge vapor show
normal cloud chain vapes on cable, it keeps up mighty fine
good recommend bap

I must try ceramic
I cant imagine it better than cable but those well sorted say it is..

OK BAP......it's official.....took your lead and ordered RSST, ribbon and cable.....looking forward to playing with this RBA...(dripping atty not an option for me..he-he)......will ask for pointers if needed my friend...but this does not look like rocket science to me after reading and reviewing numerous videos on the RSST and RBA's.....and many of my pals on ECF have / use RBA's.....seems that the coil build is the key factor....

Vapor production improvement is not a big deal to me as I just want to see the improved flavor production that RBA's seem to tout....we will see....for 50 bucks it is going to be fun playing with the RSST....

Thx Bap for your input and informational posts......and you too Visus.....

Just to make sure I wasn't leading you down a dark path I just set up one of my rsst's with 1/8" cable that I have been meaning to try.

I used some 600 mesh around the top of the cable, 0.5mm ribbon, and ended up with a 1.4 ohm coil.

Todd has a simple video showing setting up the cable and mesh.

I was a little rusty with getting the coil setup and firing evenly, but overall it seemed a lot easier than I remember mesh. Just as a note, I just Ramboed the coil instead of the PetarK method which probably would have been much easier and saved me time in the end.

IMO overall performance was pretty good and didn't have the lag that I'm getting with ceramic. As long as the tank was fairly full my normal ~45* tilt fed just fine, lower tank levels and chain vape sessions may need some additional tilting to keep up.

~12.5 watts seemed to be the best for my juice. Flavor seemed good and may break in better, but nothing like the white ceramic wick. I doubt I will give it a chance to break in and find out.

Yep I saw that video....my normal vape position is 45/50 degree tilt anyway so should not be an issue....with my juices I'm good at 8.4 to 8.5 watts so I'll be starting at that point for comparison and adjusting from there as needed...and some say that oxidizing the cable is not necessary with the RSST as long as you pulse the new coil which oxidizes the cable at the area where the coil is contacting the cable so I'll be trying both ways also....Petar k seems like a good method also....

I'll just say that vapor production is a big point of RBAs. And that vapor production has a lot to do with flavor.

Personally I think that chasing flavor from atomizer design is to a large degree a fool's errand. I am strongly of the belief that a juice vaped in similar conditions will taste similarly. A wick's primary function is to feed juice to the coil. Flavor per se varies and can be adjusted to a multitude of conditions by altering the recipe of the juice itself.

BTW FWIW dripping has a strong reputation as the pinnacle of flavor delivery, fresh juice beats on-device tank storage. You will always be sacrificing from there to go to on-device storage.
