Hey guys. I've been using CE2s for a couple of months now exclusively, and have found that the tubes are okay until you remove them from the atty to rinse out your old juice. Once those suckers are removed from the atty they start stretching and cracking.

So I'm running a bit of an experiment here. Instead of taking them apart to rinse, I'm just running them under hot tap water for a few minutes, until almost all of the juice scent is gone. Then, I take a piece of paper towel and stick it into the clearo until the paper towel is sitting against the wicks. This helps to draw out any moisture in the wick after cleaning.

I did this last night and when I woke up this morning my wicks were nice and dry. So, everything got cleaned but without removing the tube...

This is the method I use to clean my steel ce2's. Since the tube is damn near impossible to remove, and trying RUINED one og my ego's, I just take out all of the caps and rinse it under the sink. Shake it out, blow it out, let it dry for a while, dry burn it, and then maybe or maybe not rinse it again.

Cleaning the ce2's will extend the life significantly, but darker juices will kill them within 6 weeks, even in rotation with 4 others. The ce2 that I used with wyatt earp (very very potent and dark juice) is now burnt tasting, and is now out of my rotation. I'll try soaking it in vinegar overnight but I doubt that the burned taste will go away.

The rest of them are still going strong after 6 weeks in a 4-5 carto rotation, and some are used more than others. The Earp one was indeed one of the more used cartos out of the bunch.

This method does work tho, you do not need to take apart your ce2's to clean or dry burn em.

I wish I would have thought of it sooner. I can't stand the metal CE2s. I think they give off a funky burnt taste. In other CE2 news, I just ordered some BD syringes to replace tubes... Hairball here on the forum suggested it because cinnamon based juices won't melt the syringe tubes. Just have to cut them to size a bit.

For all the complaints I've had with leaking and over-wicking leading to leaking, I have to say I love the clearos. So far, it's the only thing I've tried where I find I get the true taste of the juice.

That is exactly how I clean them too! Seems to work just fine. :)
