Extracting nicotine from my own tobacco plants

I have tobacco plants that I grow in my garden. I only smoke tobacco when I wake up and before I sleep. So it makes sense that I should extract pure nicotine from the plants.

I am skilled in working with hazardous materials, so I don't need a health and safety reminder. I distill my own moonshine from yeast and sugar in a pot still, adding rum flavor. So I hardly ever have to buy alcohol that I drink on weekend. I would like a similar solution with producing my own nicotine juice.

I know the basic method of extracting nicotine, but I would like to know if anyone here has had any practical success, in making a juice from tobacco leaves.

I plan to dilute it with PG.

Also, I want to keep the process as natural and simplistic as possible.

Thanks in advance for advice

I don't think you will get a lot of detailed info on nicotine extraction here. It is a standard amine alkaloid extraction/acid-base flip method, but of course hidden in those several words is a lot of specialized glassware, solvents, acids, bases, and instruments to measure purity. I'm an organic chemist, and its simply not worth it, unless it is something I wanted to do for the thrill of it. Scaling up to get enough nic to vape for months or years is simply too expensive for even someone like me, and way too dangerous. Too time consuming too. Atr this point just buying nic liquid is a far better route.

The subforum AZ mentioned was originally for extracting tobacco flavors, not nicotine. PG or VG or PGA are not good nic extraction solvents. They work only minimally. Good for the flavors, however, although IMHO only VG will keep the other plant biomolecules out of it. Unless you have experience and the materials for an amine alkaloid extraction, and the instruments to let you know if your final product is still full of solvents, it is not a wise venture, and not efficient enough without non-polar organic solvents.

You might also look into pasteurization of your tobacco, and making swedish-style snus. Or simply tobacco flavors. These to me are far better and more doable directions.

I know of only one person here that has extracted pure nicotine, and he is a well-equipped chemist. He would probably also think its not worth it at all for the average person with tobacco plants.
