There is a break-in time. It took me about half a tank. I've been vaping on 2 of these since Feb. 24th. I've found that they like clear juices best. I have 1 that I only vape fruit blends in. It needs to be rinsed out with HOT water every other tank & then dry burned. I'll put a little PGA (or 100% PG Dekang Strong Mint if I'm out) and vape it dry again. Then I refill w/ my juice blend & it vapes like new.

Well, I'm not sure about resistances (I ordered Standard, but since I don't have a multimeter....) on the ones I got, but I got great flavour and throat-hit from relatively low voltage, even pre-mod. I found that any higher than about 4.5 volts gave me consistent dry, burnt hits.

Post-mod, I'm holding around 4 to 4.2 maximum, or (as I put it somewhere else) I feel like a miniature Rocky has been using my uvula as a speed-bag.

I find that even though they are capable of going to higher voltages, they cannot wick enough juice fast enough to deal with the increased heat/vaporization

That may be it. Unless you were vaping a 100% PG-based juice, I suppose. I remember having more success at pushing the voltage after thinning out one of my 70/30 blends. Depends on what the developers had in mind when designing the thing I guess.

Cheers! It's worked for me, even with my tendency to be a little hamfisted at times. The big thing I've noticed is that when you're enlarging the opening in the mouthpiece seal, be sure that you don't accidentally cut out more than you're aiming for. I'd recommend switching to a more precision cutting instrument, like the scalpel-ish type of X-Acto Knife, rather than just continuing to use a utility knife.
