Hello all,

I have an IKV HR510 that I have used for two days and a very light vaper. Anyway, the atty started off great, but then I started getting very little vapor. So little in fact I feared I had popped the thing. Anyway, this am I started trying to use it and could hear only a low hiss, which lead me to believe that it was NOT popped. I pulled out the ohm reader and it now reads over 19.6 ohms vs the original 3.5. I also checked another atty (old, not ikv) I had and it ohm'd out at its expected 3.0. I am using a 6v device and it is putting out its expected voltage. So the atty's resistance is so high its not getting hot enough to vaporize the juice.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? Is this atty now useless? Do I need to clean a nearly new atty? FYI, I was vaping a light colored, 20% vg juice.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Something like that has happened to me a couple of times, too. I had one HV atty working great for a couple of days and then without any warning the resistance jumped to over 70 ohms one day. It could be a user error or it could simply be a bad atty in the batch. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that cleaning it will accomplish anything.

Yeah thats a bummer, I never buy the insurance on ikv attys because I have never needed it but this wouldve come in handy on this one. Did you happen to buy the ins.?

Weird. I had the exact opposite happen with my IKV HV 306. When I got it, it was reading at 3.5 ohms like it should. I checked the resistance every so often over a 4-5 day period and noticed that it kept dropping. It went from 3.5 to 3.2, 3, 2.8, 2.6, and finally all the way down to 2.2 earlier today.

I decided it was time to clean it so I rinsed it out and dry burned it a few times then let it soak in vodka for about 40 minutes. After letting it dry and priming it with some PG I checked the resistance and now it's 3.4 ohms again. Very strange.
