You wife could well be right.

Hope in a Jar (Philosophy), and this is what I see stated about it:
"this high-performing moisturiser contains lactic acid, a gentle alpha hydroxy acid that helps remove surface dead skin cells and beta-glucan to promote overall skin health by helping to strengthen skin's natural rejuvenation potential. hope in a jar dramatically improves skin radiance and gently exfoliates, revealing smoother, healthier looking skin and texture."

and I also see they do 'When Hope is Not Enough' :D ...amongst other things, that seems to have Borage Oil in it (Starflower).

As for Oatmeal - that sounds good as oatmeal is calming amongst other things. (It can also be used to make a gentle facial mask/exfoliator scrub).
I've just seen Aveeno Cream:
"Aveeno Cream is formulated with naturally active colloidal oatmeal to moisturise dry and sensitive skin. Regular use helps prevent dryness and irritation caused by skin dehydration. - Moisturising cream formulated with naturally active Colloidal Oatmeal. - Actively moisturises dry and sensitive skin prone to eczema. - Regular use helps prevent dryness and irritation caused by skin dehydration. - Suitable for use on any part of the body, especially extremely dry, irritated patches of skin. - Fragrance free. - Apply as often as required. - Available on prescription. Suitable for use on any part of the body, especially extremely dry, irritated patches of skin."

All sound to be very useful and perhaps beneficial things - do post on how you find the oatmeal lotion.

Careful with using extra exfoliation though - you could make it sore, or perhaps even worse. A muslin wash cloth can rid the facial skin of dry skin cells.
I've just read that eczema can be helped using sea-salt in either almond oil or a little warm water too.
No doubt there are dozens of things we could try - just a case of trial and error.

I had all of these when I quit smoking. Thought it was allergies to e-cig vapor and went back to smoking for a week. It cleared up but I was eager to quit so I went back to vaping and sure enough it came back... although it was milder than before I stuck with it hoping that it would go away and it did. I do know that I have to drink a lot during the days that I vape continuously, I end up drinking about a half a gallon of gatorade a day + various other liquids. I also quit binge drinking soda at the same time.

Thanks wbart - all positive to hear! I'll stick it out.

I've never been a juice/soda or water drinker, but have now added a bottle of water to my workbench, and often drink a glass of water when I go into the kitchen.
Being winter when I've begun all this, I didn't take kindly to it, and mostly wait until the water is at room temperature. At least in summer it'll be better.

I'm seeing that after applying a tiny bit of mild betamethasone valerate cream twice, they seem to look a little better! If they clear up, I'll try using something non pharmaceutical to hopefully maintain that improvement - I'll wait to see how Ride394 gets on :)

I've had no issues with redness/spots, but my skin (previously combined/oily) and hair is now dry, so I had to change my entire beauty regimen, and had no issues since. The changing, however, called for significant investment, because I had to give up some of my favorite products (gave them away) and had to research for the new ones appropriate for my "new" skin/hair. However, I did save a fortune on blotting pads I used to diminish "excessive shine" over my face.

If any of the guys are scratching their heads reading this - girls' talk, never mind ;)

Lana79 - I almost mentioned something similar earlier: I developed an extreme case of hyperthyroidism which reached it's worst In 2000, and I was on medication for a year. As predicted by my doctor, I put on weight: 2 stones! I felt so much better after treatment put my thyroid levels back to normal, I accepted that even though I'd always been just above or below the 9 stone mark and a UK size 10 (sometimes 8).

Anyway, my husband developed high cholesterol and two years ago was put on statins, which produced awful side effects showing that he was intolerant. I decided to make changes to what /how we eat - not a diet but a permanent change.
As a result, his cholesterol came down to acceptable levels, but what we hadn't anticipated was the weight loss - we noticed after 6 months that we were a size smaller, and then another size smaller after a further 6 months!
I came down to 8st 13lbs, and my hair and skin had changed too.
My hair was pretty uncontrollable. It took months & months of trial end error to find the right shampoos and styling products, but eventually all was well, and by this past winter my hair was finally the best it had ever been since growing it longer ...until now!
Once more, my hair and skin is giving me problems, and unless it begins to settle back down, I'll need to begin all over again!

That's brilliant! Pleased to hear that you've had a good result with it.

I actually ordered some of the same Aveeno today :) I already have some exfoliator/scrub, and used some earlier.

Haven't used anything else apart from normal moisturiser on my face today and the rash seems to have stayed away for now. Using the Aveeno may very well stop it returning!
Thanks for the update and info.

I'm curious, did you French inhale a lot?

I do - and I never really noticed until my neighbor said "How do you do that?!" the other night when we were vaping. I was trying to teach her. Pretty funny. :)

Anyway, I have not smoked a cigarette in 14 years but I have been vaping for a couple of months and I've started to get dry skin and acne around my nostrils (right on the edges). I'm 43 and have had clear skin for the most part as an adult so this is a new thing and I can only assume it's the vaping causing it. It's definitely not detoxing from smoking.

For the past few nights I've been making an effort to moisturize that area and it seems to be clearing up. Sure hope it stops...

No, I just use them like I smoked a cigarette.

Amazing how a few negatives can weaken the pleasure of not smoking - with the red dry rash, dry hair and congestion I got a few days ago, I came the closest yet in giving in!

Next day after ministering to my face and hair and once more breathing normally, I was feeling optimistic again .

It sounds like your skin condition is getting better but I thought I might mention something I learned here on the Forum. Most (probably all) eliquids are nicotene and a base of PG or VG or a combination of both. (Propylene Glycol and Vegetable Glycerin). Some folks have an allergy to PG ( more humectant than vg) and find that decreasing the PG is the way to go. Some symptoms are dry, reddened skin. You might want to do some research here or change the ratio of your pg/vg. Just a thought....

Can't speak for Ride394, but I've been using either PG or a VG/PG mix in cartomizers.

After having a couple of congestion issues in the past week, I've ordered some Jac VG liquid to see if it makes any difference.
The V2 cartomizers are refillable and I do have a refillable glass one for the V2 battery.

It is certainly worth a try (changing PG/VG ratio). I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with V2 cartos. Post what you find with the switch as it may help others. We are all different and have different sensitivities or preferences. Some prefer PG for throat hit and PG tends to "carry" flavor more. VG creates more vapor.
