....did a few changes to my favorite VV Box mod. Since it's #4 and I can't think of anything I'd change, it will probably be the last. By moving the meter switch from the lid to the box and swapping -/+ battery connections, it was possible to "hide" the 2nd ground wire.

Top left corner is VERY crowded, but it all fits just right by modding the delrin plug I use with the connector to provide add'l strength and support. It also helps hold the meter switch in place and a slot for the battery and a platform for the case magnets....so it's pretty busy. I can't find space for an on/off switch, but I've never needed one so it's no biggie. Rewiring the meter switch would be easy, but I HATE having the meter display every time I press the button; which would be a super LED and I don't like LED in a mod at all. I'm rambling so I'll shut up.

I hear ya on the "no led's" in a mod...I've just been throwing tact sw's into the meter cct, they're tiny and non descript...in fact while you're at it throw in 2...one reads the output and one reads the batt v

note:, just make sure to place them so that you can't hit both at once...these reg's are pretty tough but you would essentially be back-feeding batt v into the output if you did.

poland, and the brassy lands of google
Hey your rambling is fine with me, especially when there's pics to go along with it. :) I'm not quite seeing the meter in the box and not in the lid though.....

I think it's the darkness of winter, but I've been liking adding a little glow to the tanks and similar things, not a typical indicator LED, and pretty much shrouded, but just a touch of ambiance.

....the switch; not the meter. I guess I could mount the meter in the box, but then I'd have to move the chip to the lid and the wiring would be a nightmare. When all the components are in place there's 1mm clearance and barely room to squeeze in the meter wiring. But, that's what I like about the box....everything fits in the smallest possible enclosure. Some of the VV box mods are as big as a brick.....can't stand those. lol
