Fact
Better known is Simón Bolívar (1783-1830), South America’s Great Liberator. He puts Pretorius in the shade. Bolívar was the president of Peru (1824-1827), Bolivia (1825) and Gran Colombia, a country that contained modern Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and Panama (1819-1830). This means that for
three years Bolívar was president of two countries simultaneously, and for one year he actually ruled
three countries! Un gran hombre.
