Fairly new vaper - questions re: eGo-C

My Joyetech eGo-C starter kit has worked very well for me for the past couple of months. However, lately I've become a bit less satisfied with it.

For one, I bought it from a local vapor shop, and much of the e-liquid I've used has come from there. However, I've noticed that there is very little flavor in the newer flavors I've tried. I bought 6ml bottles of coconut, pina colada and watermelon this time around, and all but the watermelon was almost flavorless. I honestly could not tell what flavor I was vaping with the coconut and pina colada. My assumption at this point is that it was just a bad batch of liquid, or that, due to the fact that it is there cheaper "house" brand (USA Blends?), it just isn't up to par with some of the higher-quality stuff I've tried from other sources. Does anyone else ever run into this?

I seem to be getting less vapor and throat hit from my eGo lately. I know that atomizers don't last forever and sometimes the e-juice can build up inside them, but I've not had one stop working (I can still hear a bit of "sizzle" when I hold the button down). I've tried what the merchant advised and taken the atomizer assembly off the battery and blown through it in the reverse direction, but it doesn't seem to help. Therefore, I will sometimes just replace the atomizer. I've not discovered any reliable methods for cleaning them - any advice there would be appreciated. I've used both the stock replaceable eGo-C atomizers and the dual-coil atomizer tank (small size). The dual-coil tank does appear to provide less resistance (a good thing), but doesn't seem to be getting enough liquid through it, as I'm just not getting enough vapor and throat hit. Even brand new atomizers don't seem to be operating as well as what I'm use to.

Anyone have any tips on cleaning these atomizers and perhaps getting more vapor from them? I've been using 75/25 PG/VG (I think), but I have a bottle of 50/50 on order. I'm already a little concerned that the liquid is too thick to be flowing properly through the wick area, so I don't know how the 50/50 is going to work out. It could be I just don't understand well enough how the unit works, though.

Lastly, if this eGo-C does seem to be functioning properly, what might you suggest for someone who wants more vapor and throat hit?

Thanks!

I clean the c atomizers by putting them in 151 Galen's Vodka - cheap, charcoal filtered, no coloring or flavoring. I soak them for about 15-20 minutes depending on the gunk. I take apart the spike plate but it isn't absolutely necessary. You'll see the vodka get yellow. I leave it to dry on a paper towel. Others use other methods, some of which you can see in these threads.

The last one is on the eGo-t but many of the tips with regards to the 'tanks' which are the same still apply to the c. As do some comments about the spike and coil even though in the t, they are not separated into a 'unit/head'.

One side note - it is pretty standard for new vapers to go through a period where ejuice flavors either 'lose flavor' or 'all taste the same' or 'everything is too sweet' and much of that is the change in taste buds. Just so you know that - there are plenty of threads that point to that happening. That said, cleaning of the atty is a good idea.

I use ejuice that has one of the highest amounts of VG - a VG nic base, a VG blend and some flavorings that are based partly in VG. But both the nic base and the blend are still diluted with H2O to around an 80:20 mixture and the nic base even more since the nicotine is part of that blend. The end result with the nic, H2O, and the pg and/or PGA in the flavorings amount to about a 60-65% VG ejuice - and what many would call, wrongly, "100% VG", which any ejuice with the distilled water, nicotine and flavoring and whatever part of the flavor base is PG/VG/PGA.... never is "100% VG". And more importantly, that has never given me any problems vaping in either the eGo-t or the eGo-c. I know what some say about their suggested ratios and keeping the VG down, but I've never found it to be a problem and have been vaping the eGo-t and c since receiving betas for testing.
