I got an Ego-C kit today and I went on a search to see if I could figure out why it wasn't wicking. Then I pulled the wick off. It does NOT look like the other pics I saw in other threads. Anyone that has a C and been in some cartridges ever see one that looks like this? Just want to make sure I'm not making an ... of myself when I try to return it.

I can tell you that my New Ego-C does NOT come apart like yours does and is one piece.,,, your Atty looks like it is more like the Bud Atty.

There are also so many manufacturers out there now that they copy the 5-6 main manufacturers goods as soon as there new products hit the market. It's like the Gucci purses, is it real or a fake, Original JoyE stuff is usually a tad different then the bootleg stuff one way or another as well as being a bit better.

This is the pic from the original Ovale thread I found

Mine looks scary compared to that

Actually both the ovale and the joytech units do come apart like that although I didn't know it until 'ournature' pointed it out - I had tried to separate them to see the coil and didn't want to apply much pressure to do it - it was a beta but then the other one I got it was possible (after seeing ournature's post) and was able to separate the first one then - knowing they did come apart.

That said, the structure of the 'pot' is quite different than your first picture and consistent with the one you got off the ovale site. It appears, but it may just be an odd reflection - that the spike may have some insulting material in it - not a bad idea BUT on the wrong side as far as I'm concerned - but that would apply more to the t's that have ejuice burning problems. The wire mesh around the pot on yours MAY attempt to serve a purpose depending on how the airflow goes through it, that may address leaks - again, not a problem I've seen with the c's, but the mesh may tend to act as an ejuice 'holder' as it does in a regular atty.

And if it simply doesn't work, send it back..... it isn't a joye or ovale which except for logo are the same as far as I've been able to tell having both of them. Thanks for posting the picture though... good to know what variations are out there.

Yeah I'm gonna send it back, if it's just a cheap fake, who knows what the metal mesh is made of. The mesh might actually be sucking the liquid away from the wick and causing the problem. If I drip on it it works for a minute and then back to dry. I didn't even think about it being genuine or not, I figured it was to soon for copys to be around.:glare: I'll order straight from Ovale.

RM,

I think you might be right about that it sucks ejuice away but that might be more from the design of the pot - I rechecked your pic and the real ego-c has a full 'wall' around the coil and the one you pictured looks like either holes in the wall perhaps filled with silicone (to cover the leads into the coil maybe)... hard to tell... You should be good to go with the ovale. Check the tips thread here some of the tips on the t, fit the c as well but you'll likely not be experiencing the leaks and the burning ejuice that t's can cause with some ejuices.... I got lucky on my t's - no leaks for close to a year and then easily fixed.
