Why does the eGo-C get such a bad rap on this site?

UPDATE !!!

had my first leak today.

See, I told you guys this thing was a POS!

J/K, of course. I've never had one leak, and this sounds more like an "ooze" than an outright leak. While I've never had a leak (although I've taken my share), one guy suggested that instead of pushing in a new tank and letting the atty spike punch the hole in the bottom, that instead you do it more "surgically" with an 18 gauge needle, commonly found on a juice-filling syringe. Never even found that necessary though.

Hey now, is this thread still alive?

So it seems. :)

@kaysesoze: Do you put your teeth on it and pull? I wasn't even aware the bottom of the cartridge came off!

Such a silly man. :) Just pop it off with a fingernail. Try it, you'll like it!

Chris, have you been using a syringe all this time? They come off and click back on just great, even after 50 times. Mine have never given me any trouble.

And hey, check out my edit at the bottom of post #55.

to get the bottom of the cartridge off just use fingernail to in between the cap, and pop off..
i think the culprit was me drawing hard while vapin..

@Myk: I haven't been able to get Boba's to wick well enough to use on the eGo system, but for others who might be experiencing problems with 100% VG juices, I've read that adding a drop or two of distilled water helps.

The bug up my .... comment? Are you trolling, or did I miss the humor there?

We both agree that the eGo "works" is a great system- that's really all I was touching on to begin with.

Yep, I sure have been! I did find out that the mouth tip piece comes off after dropping my C on a concrete floor, but wasn't aware that the bottom came off. Cool!

If you hear gurgling... that excess is going to leak out at some point. It just means you've sucked to much juice into the atty and usually will slowly drain out, aka leak. I just pop the tank off and tail pipe it a few times if that happens. That way you vape the excess up and pop the tank back on and it's all good again.

I use almost 100% VG in it with no issues at all. I just use the spike to puncture the caps before I use em. Putting one of the soft caps on with out puncturing it first, you end up with that little piece you punched out floating around in the tank. I don't see a need to use a needle though. :)

LOL Oh!! I was wondering what happened there.... :toast:

Crap, I can only imagine what you were thinking, lol

OK, all's well that ends well I guess. Hey, by the way, nice picture! I wish I had the guts to put my mug out there like that, but I might frighten small children. :)

Take care - now go have those drinks! haha

Here is a picture of all 4 pieces of a tank. So you can see what comes apart on the tanks. :)

Oh yes, and since this thread got active again. Cleaned my attys and was reminded of why I really don't think I'll be vaping the melon at higher voltage, I can already burn through a tank in a couple hours. 1ml an hour could get expensive.

Now Myk, do I have to tell you all over again exactly what you do and do not like?

And hey, speaking of expense, check this out. This is a cut-and-paste from my "stockanswers.txt" file, about Tasty Vapor Doublers. Lots of GREAT flavors that end up costing about $.20/ml this way:

"Tasty Vapors has what they call "Doublers", which are zero-nicotine e-liquids, any percentage of PG/VG you want, available in all the same flavors as their nicotine juices, that cost 1/4 as much. Using Doublers, I just order 1 oz. (30 ml) bottles of whatever flavors I want, and in the 48 mg strength. Their nicotine juices all all the same price - about $16/oz. - regardless of the nicotine level (from 12 to 48 mg) - so this is a no-brainer. You can then reduce the nicotine level to whatever you want, using the identical flavor of zero nicotine juice, so the flavor is not diminished.

I don't know if other vendors offer Doublers, but they should. Plenty of vendors will sell you zero-nicotine flavored juice, but at the same price as the nicotine juice, which makes little sense, economic or otherwise".

I love Geoff's Blend, and Kretek (clove) in particular, and Peach Cobbler, Rainbow Sherbet, and Caramel Popcorn are supposed to be great.

That's funny. How did you clean old flavors out?

Run it under the faucet and shake out, then leave to soak in a cup of warm water and a drop of dawn- same procedure as the needles. If the flavor was similar I would just top it off with a needle.

In retrospect, I don't remember reading and instructions for filling/cleaning, and didn't want to fiddle with what seemed to me a delicate piece that I wanted to get a lot of use out of! Learn something new every day....

And now that I feel like a total idiot, I think I might just have a drink too!

Yup, I was only aware of the two front pieces! Thanks for the pic, don't recall seeing that in the instruction booklet!

Just wanted to add that you can do this at ECBlend.com too. They're not my personal favorite vendor (though I do like their coffee options), but a lot of others love what they have to offer. Just order "Double Extra Flavor" at 36mg ($1.40 more @ 50ml) and cut it in half with your preferred PG/VG ratio and you've got 100ml of 18mg juice for $17... not a bad deal at all.

.. off to go check out Tasty Vapors now!

Excellent! Thanks for that, that's the first other place I've heard of that does it. What a good friend you are :)

And hey, if you like coffee .... I'm kinda chummy with Chris at TV, and he turned me on to some of his private stash, this unbelievably delicious coffee flavor that he calls "Gimmie Leftist Latte". It's not "on the menu", and there's no Doubler for it, but you can get it, for how long I don't know, in 12 or 24 mg, and it should be on everyone's Bucket List, it is just that good. If you go to their website, you just go to the "Mix Your Own Flavor" option, and then just add a note saying that you want some. 80/20 I think it is. Tell them John D in CT sent you. :)

I don't recall seeing much of anything in my instruction book. I seriously had to get my optivisor magnification out to even attempt to read it. It's worse than a CD lyrics sheet.

It's not a Twist but I did get an Upgrade PT today. In unregulated mode and plugged in it produced more vapor, heated up the cone faster but I can't say it helped the melon at all.
I was hopeful because most flavors have been bland the last 2 days. But I can't say it made it lose any flavor either.
