OK so I got some Samsung inr 18650 25r batteries from eciggity and right on the sticker it says made in China...

Now I bought one battery prior to that for another mod from myvaporstore and that sticker did not say made in China.

The batteries both look the same color blue but in some places I am seeing the 25r has a 20amp discharge, and in others that it has a 25...

What is the correct answer for this, knowing Samsung is a Korean company I have never seen a Samsung product that has not proudly stated it was made in Korea...

Underneath the label the battery says this:

INR18650-25R
Samsung SDI
2EA3

Now with all the fake Sony batteries that have been flying around I just want to make sure these are legit and what the deal is....

Thank you for any help!

Not sure about the R, but
a) I like my Samsungs - gonna buy more.
b) Seeing as you are a smurf, you don't really have a choice, do ya? You HAVE to go with the baby blues...
I get them from RTD Vapor, with 1000% confidence they are legit.

Can someone explain me what the 25R in the name means? I thought that 25 is for 2500mAh, is this correct? What is the letter R? I have seen a lot of different combinations after the 18650-.
Thank you.

I have quite a few of these batteries that were purchased directly from the manufacturer through a coop. Mine look almost like the one is this pic, but under the INR18650-25R line, there's a silver sticker that has 18650 3.7V 2500mAh printed on it.

Thank you @train2. I googled for about 3 hours last night and I still wonder what the R means. How can that be so difficult. I have heard from many people that the information after the 18650- does not matter but it seems that the first two numbers are the mAh and that does make a different in the battery life, so I really wonder what the R would tell me :)

The Samsung INR18650 25r is a 2500mah 20a CDR battery.
I = Li-ion
N = nickel / manganese cathode (aka hybrid)
R = round cell

The R behind 25 (25r) is a model signifier.
Some say it is R for rechargeable (secondary cell) some say R means rating.

Most things aint near as complicated or mysterious as most folks want to make it.

It is a little disconcerting that kidney puncher is listing this as a 25amp battery, it is not. That being said, I believe the 25R actually refers to the number of amps you can recharge it at. Specifically the "r" rating. But i don't want to read back through the samsung 25r co-op thread to locate that information.

OK. I purchased these batteries from vapenw. Anyone know if they can be trusted? I never thought there was any concern about "fake" samsung batteries so I didn't really worry about the vendor prior to reading this thread.

Exactly my concern... How hard would it be for any Chinese manufacturer to produce a cheap battery, stick a baby blue wrapping on it and stick Samsung on the sticker.... We really have no idea what we are buying... Not like its a Samsung phone or TV....

That being said and the previous mention of Samsung having a manufacturer of cells in China is odd because the last galaxy phone I owned in 2013 the battery cell stated it was made in Korea. I wouldn't argue it if it said made in Korea... But China.... Oh boy...

Samsung 25Rs are too cheap to be counterfeited. You can buy them $6 at 18650 Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh High Discharge FLAT Top - Batteries - Batteries, Chargers, and PowerPax Carriers. That's a reputable site. Btw, samsung batteries are made in China. What else are not? Lol.

Absolutely agree. It's not a cheap vape company looking to peddle fake batteries. I've purchased 14 of these so far and every single one holds a charge for close to 36 hours at regular vaping anywhere between .3-.6ohms. Mostly every "authentic" VTC I've ever purchased has crapped the bed in two weeks.
