All my mods are American, likely all my atties are Chinese. Since i'm a naturalised English American in Texas married to a Dutch woman, i really don't get swayed much by nationality!

Reos: absolutely bulletproof. Best mods for taking to work, dropping on concrete floors, nothing to them. Easy to fix. You do have to be good at rebuilding coils to get the best from any mechanical mods.

Regulated mods: fantastic and worry-free, with a lot of safety built in, but require a little more careful handling. If i was in the office all day - winner. Throw what you like on top and it'll work most likely.

And this is why I'm getting a DNA30 mod made by americans that are using Chinese components but I like the fact the money is going to them for the most part and I won't have to depend on the MVPs for much longer...I love how they work and how cheap they are of course but hate they are so disposable...:(

yes although I like how you use the depleted MVP2s as ohm readers--that's a fantastic idea since it doesn't consume much battery at all :)

You must be unlucky Sloth! ;)

When i started rebuilding my own gear, the most frustrating bit was the realisation that if i made a coil that shorted, or just tasted crap, or was too high or too low - then it's all my fault!! Ask my wife how many flew past her in a flurry of swearing!

Compare that with a plethora of "my Nautilus tank is not working right" (and it's not my fault) and you get the idea.

Spot on for me yes, huge selling point. I've been quoted as having the biggest case of reo-itis of the century LOL, but honestly, as much as I love the REO, it's not the REO itself I hail so much--it's "selling points" of bottom feeders and mechanicals, like that one. And I hear you on the chinese stuff, I'm not bashing chinese stuff--i'm just one who likes to support the local economy as much as possible. I do have some chinese stuff of course too, obviously with vape gear though I wanna sell it all eventually, but also other things. I enjoyed that post cthulu :2cool:
Yep, I didn't take it to mean you were bashing Chinese stuff and hope it didn't come off like I was implying that ;)

Don't have any experience with the Vapor Shark but from what I have read, the folks that own them seem to be quite happy with them.

I own a Hana and I am very happy with it and if anything happens to go wrong, It can be sent in for repairs.

As for the Cana ( Hana clone), I researched these as well and while the price point is very attractive, I have read too many horror stories about malfunctioning units and in fact in one case, the unit started smoking to the point were the user threw it down thinking it was about to explode. In another, it burnt up to the point that the readout window looked like something left behind after a fire. When this happens, no choice but to pitch it away unless you are willing and able to replace the chip set yourself.

I ultimately went with the Hana just because of the serviceability and the choice of colors.

Can someone break down for me the difference between a Vapor Shark, Cana and Hana DNA 30??? I am primarily looking at the DNA 30 or a Provari.

Chillcat- I have 2 Provaris and 2 Hana Modz and both are fabulous devices that I really love! Both are very solid and dependable. I like the screen setup on the Hana better. And of course the Hana goes up to 30 watts and the Provari 2.5 up to 6 volts. And there are things about the Provari that I like better. I rarely go above 13-14 watts on the Hana.

Depends on what you like. I have a new REO Grande now and love it ad well. As you can see I like variety and each mod has it's unique qualities that I love. Just do research and read up on each and see what suits your needs. The Hana Modz are harder to find and there are links on their website where you can find them. They were recently on sale-that's when I picked up the second one;) then turned around and got the REO after I swore "no more mods for awhile" But I enjoy my hobby and it keeps me off the stinkies;)

Maybe unlucky - sloths are known for bad luck LOL don't wear me as a backpack I'll mess everything up :D (seen any videos of people wearing sloths like backpacks? HILARIOUS) I just don't have time or patience or an enjoyment from tinkering to get it "just right" when I can wick an RM2 blindfolded and have a perfect hit everytime :)

cthulu - naw I didn't take your post that way either, just wanted to be sure nobody thought I was bashing chinese stuff :) if I were in China I'd try to only buy Chinese stuff

On my MVP I haven't had it above 9 W. So a Provari would work! Are the DNA 30s about the same size as the MVP? What I did love about the REO mini was the size! It fit perfectly in my hand!

I've held a Hana and it is a little wider than a Reo Grand and the same height. So wider and shorter than a MVP...though the sharks look smaller than that, not sure as I've never encountered one in the wild so to speak.

And ST I love seeing you here!!

6 volts at say 1.2 ohms = 30 watts just so that it is known. My preference is at 3.6 to 4.2 volts @1.2 ohms on the Provari's.

( P.S 3.6-4.2 = between 11.0-15.0 watts)

Oh please do please keep us posted! :p

I will...right now they are running it as a co-op and invite only so far. I'll let you know if they run with it. The large one is about the size of two 18650's held side by side in your hand. The small one is TINY and I can't imagine how small they'll be. I was going to get a small but the tweaking of the small box they are using takes a lot more time to get everything to fit so it is more expensive than the large so I'm going with the large. Plus I'm afraid I'd lose the small!

The Hana is slightly shorter yet slightly wider than the MVP. I have small hands and it sits nicely. There is the mini Hana but the battery is not removable like the regular sized one. The company will replace the batt for a small fee-you just send it in I think. The REO slightly smaller which surprised me. It appears larger in pics;)
