I'm not a member, but would like to ask what CASSA is doing regards the following

From a rather lively debate about cig-a-likes this particular conversation is focusing on Blu

Ref Minor:
"More people use Blu than use mods, are mods vaping?"

Orb Skewer:
"
Absolutely correct Ref more people do, in fact probably 80% of vapers use them or similair :)

These are the people that live 'outside' the forums, have absolutely no idea of the political wrangling going onWORLDWIDE, and are completely and blissfully oblivious that vaping might be under any kind of threat.

I've yet to see any notice on the web sites of these companies make any mention of this, any, go have a look:2c:

So, is the campaigning worth while at all?, do we sit back, relax and consider that the 'e-cig is out of the bottle and wont go back in'?
20% (thats a guess btw) is a tiny whisper of a voice.

That would be up to the manufacturer (in this case Blu) to add the CASAA logo. However, since Blu is now owned by big tobacco, they don't want the added competition. Considering CASAA tends to oppose legislation sponsored by the big tobacco companies, skiing will be a favorite pastime in Hades before you see a CASAA logo on any of their sites.

If you were a member and attended the webinars, you'd know this already. ;)

CASAA is a group of 5000 people like me (and you, if you signed up, which only requires giving them your email address, and no money is required!) with an unpaid board of 9 people, none paid. They have day jobs.

So, if CASAA is not doing something, join up and do it!

There are downloadable graphics here: Downloadable Graphics

We have a small "art committee" trying to get some more things ready for the Board's approval, hopefully soon at least a sign that can be put into an acrylic holder at brick & Mortar shops.

I know what CASSA do

VVV This VVV was my question. It is related to cig-a like companies and the 'majority' of E-cig users/vapers

Have CASSA asked these companies why they dont have any mention on their sites of 'deeming' regulation, or 'medicalisation' of the products in Europe

The way CASAA and BT - that happens to have an e-cig product line - operate are like comparing apples and oranges. CASAA is pro consumer. Blu is pro self interest. CASAA does the work the hard way - attending public hearings, meetings and trying to be logical. Blu does the work the old fashioned way - lobbying money, attending nothing but private meetings with favored pols, and other more nefarious acts. As long as a company like Lorilard has a fist in the tobacco pie, and another fist in the e-cig pie, they will never be involved with CASAA. It simply does not fit their mixed message corporate desire.

As long as Lorilard can still sell it, deeming is of no relevance to them. That, if anything, will be the Lobbying angle being pushed there. Blu will be happy, tax mongers will be happy... Do you really think Blu cares about us in this political clown show? They have their own agenda and corporations are not known for sharing and being all altruistic. CASAA could ask, but what would even be the point?

They (Blu et al) most likely are not entrenched enough in the very large European political field to gain much purchase there. (Pun intended.)

CASAA - Wisconsin

There are so many companies out there that CASAA's directors couldn't possibly contact them all. That is why we ask members to contact vendors and encourage them to support CASAA by linking to our site or using our materials in their stores.

We are actually going to be working with a member (DC2 here on ECF) whose project is going to be rolling out a letter and handouts for vendors. We have talked to some of the bigger companies and we do know that the vendor associations are all aware of CASAA, but unfortunately, we have no control over whether or not individual companies decide to promote CASAA and our fight. I do know that a few send alerts to customers via email or on a company blog (see blu) rather than cluttering up their web site. Maybe some vendors trust that their associations are doing the advocating for them? I don't know. But I think pressure from customers would probably have a tremendous effect in getting vendors to link to CASAA and the Calls to Action. :)
