He was a songwriter and singer. I remember him most for the album "Silver morning". He covered the Beatles song "Blackbird" on that album. Paul McCartney was so impressed by his cover that when the Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame, he asked Rankin to perform it.
I have his records, then cassettes and once again on C.D.
