Fast Clean and Fast Dry in SS316 for Joyetech

I had to clean all my vape coils tonight and I just didn't wanna wait 2 days for the coil heads to naturally dry out. So, after pulling from the hot water (I soak them in very hot water for 15-20 minutes,) I laid them thread side down to let some of the water start dripping out. Then, I took a Q-tip and got as much of the gunk that remained inside the atomizer out. The I gave them a couple of short blows back and forth until I didn't feel any water blow back. The I took some tissue and twisted it into a small "poker" to poke inside the coil head, still got black gunk. When I was satisfied I got most of it, I fashioned hard triangle out of tissue and wiped around the coil head drip well. THEN- I laid the coil head on it side facing down the outer edge of my heater grate (where the forced heat comes out when the thermostat kicks on.) I let it air dry with the assistance of my heater-lol- for about 20 minutes. I then tested it out and kablammo- it worked perfectly- my juiced vaped perfectly without any blowback, water spurts, or anything other than vaping my juice as usual. I'm really happy this experiment worked. :rickroll:I only have 4 coils heads to get me through to payday! :tumble:

Happy vaping!! :vapor:

Welcome. Good idea on the cleaning. You must have pretty gunky eliquids?

I vape a lot of sweet juices- Sugar Burr- which tastes like Cinnamon Toast and The Wild One from OmVapors.com which tastes like Wildberry Strudel- YUM! and Nutty Nana which tastes like Banana Bread. The problem with sweet juices is that they carmelize the atomizers fast!! Most of my liquids are 70/30. I've tried to do 50/50 but it just doesn't taste the same. So, I have to put up with the carmelization of my atomizers if I want to continue with my sweet juices.

    I used to use a Lot of CE2 Clearo's.

And after Cleaning them, found that I could Wedge them in the Fan Cover of my Fan to dry.

Works Great in that where I live, I seldom turn the Heat on. But tend to have a Fan going Most of the Time.

BTW... PGA = Pure Grain Alcohol.

Although I have cleaned a coil in the past you can't clean a burned wick material or cotton. When I did clean them I used hot water and since I am not one who likes to wait I used to just use e-Liquid the same as priming a coil and that has them ready to go in minutes.
When I started with cartridge coils, I tried a lot of approaches.. especially with the ceramic coils that I figured should be cleanable.. even tried denture fizzy tablets...

At first it seemed to work... but the coils never lasted more than a few days...

And so started my "ok, let's see if I can take these suckers apart and just rebuild them...".

I did that for over a year and a half, and we still use some tanks with such cartridges (that I rebuild), but for the last year, I just said screw it and went to RTAs (as I've been using RDAs for a long time anyways, but felt that "what if I need to switch coils when not at home") and now, I really don't think I'll ever get another cartridge coil type tank ever again.... I find that the odds of a coil getting so bad that I can't use it while away from home is next to none.

Should I be traveling for a few days, I'd just put a small kit with premade coils with wick already setup. I'd just need to have a small screwdriver and scissors at that point.
