You know ... FastTech drums up a lot of business right here on this forum ... A lot of business!
Maybe it would be nice if FastTech could take 5 minutes out of there precious time and explain this whole shipping situation.
All they would have to do is tell us the reason why these orders just set for weeks on end ... Would that be hard for them to do considering the 'mileage' they get out of e-cigarette-forum.com?
Has anyone from FastTech ever even posted on this message board? .... I have never seen a post by them
There's a lot of threads describing the shipping process from resellers like Fasttech from China/Hong Kong and even a Fasttech community forum on this board. Check them out and you will gain a better understanding of the ins & outs of buying direct from China.
I'll give you an overview of the shipping process that Fasttech uses... I'm a consumer who has bought direct from China a couple of years.
When you order from Fasttech... pay close attention to the shipping availability. "In Stock" means they have it in their warehouse... ships in 7 days means they order it from a manufacturer and expect it to arrive in 7 "Business" Days...
Note: weekend days are not counted in that estimate. Also note... FT operates Monday - Friday normal business hours... Hong Kong time not US time.
Once you receive notification of shipment your parcel will take the following path. Note: I'm just covering shipments via Hong Kong Post or China Post... if your package routes through Singapore Post it will add an additional stop and handling from Hong Kong to Singapore before it's loaded on a flight to your destination country... Browse a global map to get an idea of the countries and where this stuff is traveling.
Package is picked up at Fasttech's warehouse in Guangdong, China by a transportation carrier then transported to a local Postal office. It's sorted by destination country and scanned. This usually where the status of "Acceptance" occurs meaning the Postal carrier has possession and scanned the package.
Next the scanned/sorted packages are loaded on a truck and transported about 90 miles to the Hong Kong AirMail Centre adjacent to the Hong Kong Airport. The AirMail centre processes about 700,000 packages per day.
Next the packages are scanned and x-rayed in the AirMail security center. Then processed by Chinese Customs. Any issues here can add days especially if your package is tagged for physical inspection.
Next the package heads to the cargo facility and queued up to be placed on an available passenger or cargo flight to your destination country. Flight delays, weather, etc... plus package weight and volumes can add delays getting the package off the ground.
Next your package will arrive at one of the international airports where US Customs ISC Service Centers reside... usually NY, Chicago, San Francisco or Los Angeles... Here is goes through US Customs inspection. If it requires physical inspection this adds delays also volumes and processing backlogs add delays.
Finally it is released to the USPS service and then makes it's way to your local post office and eventually to your door/mailbox. Depending on how good or terrible the USPS is handling things it can take days or weeks for your package to arrive.
Average time for a First Class package via Hong Kong or China Post is generally about 7-15 days. But Chinese Holidays or issues with air freight carriers can push this to over 30 days which is not uncommon at all.
