What is your favorite feature in a higher end mod? Be it a mech mod, or a controlled regulation device.

Is looks a large portion of it?
Weight?
Telescoping?
Battery size if not telescoping?
Voltage drop for mechs?
Significant detailing such as deep engraving?
Materials used? Exotic materials or specific materials, etc.
Cost?

Reason I ask is I'm thinking about making a small batch of mods in the next few months. I'm just trying to get a general idea of what people like. Typically the trend seems to be that they're very clean looking. I know what I like and that is function. My intention is not strictly to make money. It is mostly to share the pleasures of my hobbies. I have a flashlight machining background. The main difference I find between them is that this is much more personal.

My order of preference:

1. Voltage regulation, used mechs for over a year and became frustrated with the difference in power as the battery drained. A freshly charged battery was great for a bit, then performance wained, then it was dismal. I really like the consistent output available from a regulated device.
2. Weight, feel, build quality, more than just reliability and resilience but overall quality of all parts.
3. Looks - needs to look good (purely subjective)

VV is a must
Durability Is a must - has to handle falling form at least 6 ft onto gravel or hard packed dirt at the least.
Ease of use - easy to read display, not too small a buttons or dials.
Does the math for me - just start low and turn it up until it tastes right.
Adapter are available for it to take different tops or at least ego and 510 threads.
Affordable repairs and fast replies to inquiries.

So, it seems that VV capability is a must. I'll consider designing a chamber for the DNA20. I have a rough sketch for a purely mechanical mod at the moment. Ease of use would be mostly solved by the DNA20, I just have to decide how I want to handle the buttons. Durability is a simple one to solve. In most of my designs, I have to cut down on material because I overbuild the darn thing.

Would simply having a 510 and ego threading stock be a plus? Having those ego threads are pretty annoying to deal with when trying to design a certain form factor.

I've got a few VV-VW devices... but for now, I'm so enamored with the magnetic button of my Smoktech Magneto mech that I've not used any of the feature laden stuff in days. If you can do a magnetic side or bottom button... that'd certainly be a feature I'd be interested in.
