I am certain that I'm not the first to post a thread like this. And I apologize for that! But I have been searching and can't seem to find one.
:confused::confused:
Anyhow, I am looking to upgrade. I've been vaping for a year now and have used nothing but egos. I started with a t, then a c and now use the c upgrade.

I don't want anything too pricey. But maybe with a little more battery life. Mine seems to only last a short while and I end up plugging it in to my comp and vaping. But was just informed that's a no no!!

What is your favorite pv??? Any tips on what NOT to buy?

thanks y'all

So, you're currently using a eGo C 900mAh pass-through and not thrilled with it. That should last you at least a few hours unless you've recharged it a few hundred times and it's hitting the end of it's life.

I don't understand how using it in pass-through mode is a bad thing. Please explain or point me to that explanation.

I'd suggest a VV-VW mod as your next step. In VW mode, it allows for a "set it and forget it" mentality with excellent performance. There are many to choose from in both form factor, battery capacities and price range. Can you narrow down what your after in that regard please?

Your question about my favorites... that might suit your price range. In VV-VW, my favorites are Innokin iTaste models - MVP2 (box mod), SVD (tele-tube mod) and 3.0 ("stick" form factor, self-contained, pass-through mod).
For most folks, I recommend these three iTaste mods... they are inexpensive, well made and reliable. However, what I like is not what everyone, or you may like. Wait awhile... there will be others with their own ideas of what a good mod is.

Have fun,
SOF

I read a forum about how some of the egos have "exploded" and that one of the things the people were doing wrong is smoking while charging. Maybe it isn't accurate, since I had never heard of this before...but it definitely made me stop just in case!! I don't want anything over $40-50. I'm a single mama and spending too much on extra stuff for myself isn't usually an option! So anything under that price range would be fab. I don't need a full set up kit...just the battery if that's an option? I will look into the ones that you suggested. Thanks =)

At that price range you really have just a few options for an upgrade.

Honestly the itaste Mvp would fit the bill, I'm not sure how much the mvp2 is going for but check that out too.

The vamo and svd are pretty cheap but you have to factor in good batteries and a charger to the cost.

My favorite pv is my REO Grand, its pure bottom fed goodness!

Huh... I'd like to read that, because it'd be new to me.

The Innokin iTaste 3.0 is a full featured, but "stick form factor", self-contained VV-VW mod with a pass-through charging system. At only $35 after the discount from iVape, they are the lowest cost, fully featured mod you can buy.

Barton's suggestion of a Innokin iTaste MVP is a good one. Since the iTaste MVP 2.0, which is a VV-VW mod, came out, the VV only model MVP is being deeply discounted and may see $40 within the next few weeks. Before the MVP 2.0, prices were as high as $65 for the express version of MVP.
The MVP is a high power (2600mAh) box mod, but self-contained (no removable, exchangeable batteries) with lots of useful features... except VW. And as Barton mentions, because the battery capacity is so great, it has an output that allows you to charge things, like your cell phone.

Also, I only use my ego in the constant mode (3.3v) I find that when I use it in variable it gets too hot for my liking. So I don't really need anything that has a huge selection of voltage, as I would only be using it on the lower end.
How you set it is up to you. If you use the same topper with the same resistance, then you can set the volts by simply adding 2. In other words, if your resistance is 1.8Ω, then you add 2, for 3.8V. You still should tune a bit for the sweet spot, but again, I'm not your mom, so that's your call. ;-)
The advantage of VW can be found here in a Tom McBride article... take the time to read it and understand why your concerns, and basing them on the actions of one device, are unfounded... and why VW might benefit you.

G'night,
SOF

sigelei zmax(NOT smoktech) v5 telescoping flattop $60-my 1st mod was the v3 and it has been the best, even with all the other mods I have bought it still gets used every day. you can run it in 18350 mode and it is portable and easily stored. in 18500 or 18650 for times when you want longer vape times. solidly built, simple clean lines, and with the v5 you can charge your cell phone in a pinch. for the money it has been the best(and I own some very pricey mods).never regretted buying it and that's not something I can say about a lot of vaping gear.......
