I'm not advanced enough to use all that stuff anyway and really dont care to be. I just want a nice, simple, easy to use, no fuss no muss PV. I want to put a battery in it, screw on a tank and be set for a couple days of vaping before I have to charge the battery again.

If you want something simple and easy to use, stick with your ego twist batteries. When you get into the APVs (although you asked for a PV), you're inherently going to have to learn a bit more to use them, or buy an adapter to fit your juice device. There's no getting around a slight learning curve with APVs.

Save up your money for a Provari and don't buy cheap Chinese mods. You get what you pay for. No, the Provari doesn't have VW. It has VV that serves virtually the same end goal, it's easy to use, lots of built in safety features, maintains output voltage until the battery is completely discharged, and it has a good warranty and service from a reliable US company.

Let the flame wars begin.

I don't think I have ever seen an actual flame war here.

Just the same...do you guys get like store credit for ignoring what someone is asking and then talking about the provari?

1) I didn't ignore anything he said. Quote: "Of course like most i'd like to have the cash to throw down on a Provari and call it day but it will be a while till have that kind of loot to spend on a PV."
2) Yes, we get reward points for every Provari recommendation post. lol... j/k.

I'm mainly against buying cheap Chinese stuff that break in the first three months of use, and have no warranty. The exception is the eGo (twist) series batteries, which seem quite good.

By the way, I like your avatar. I've never seen Popeye in that fashion.

Vape on!

He also said "Besides, I'd like to get used to using one these larger, less expensive mods and see how I like it before I drop close to $200.00 on a provari"

Honestly, my experience with stick batteries is they last about six months and a 1000mah twist is about 30 dollars. You can can a vamo from health cabin for 39 dollars. Add in a 10 dollar charger (trustfire), a good 18650 (8-10 dollars) and you have a VV/VW setup with twice the battery life of your ego twist that'll last you at least that six months (you may switch batteries) for probably a little under 60 bucks. That seems like a good intermediate step between stick batt and provari.

Don't take it as me not respecting the provari for what it is, it's just not always the answer.

As for the popeye render in my av...I saw it somewhere once and right click saved it. I honestly don't know what it's from. I just thought it looked cool.

Yeah. No offense to those who own and like them, I am just biased against any Chinese mods, because of what they are made of, and they often break. I've not owned any, so I have no experience with them. I hear the new Vamo is nice.

I've just read several posts about this type of problem with Chinese mods. Pins breaking, easy to scratch, etc. The Chinese are notorious for manufacturing and QC problems, not to mention IP violations.

LOL..... Not even in the same leauge as a Provari when it comes to build quality... plus customer service...
+1 for saving up for a Provari...

Dear sir. 500 points have been added to your MyRewards account.

Disclaimer: This was a joke. Provape does not (yet) add points for post recommendations. :)

Disregarding the IP issue, it's the same price as getting two Ego twists to get you through a day. They break too, buttons break, the top popped off one of mine.

I am not saying the vamo is a provari, I am saying it's a 39 dollar apv.

I was thinking the same, the OP provided a price they wanted to spend, so I suggested something within that with some left over, maybe for extra bats & gear:)

WOW what did I stir up?!! LOL :p Hey is the Vamo made in China? One thing I like anout the Vamo is that you can use it without the tube extension it comes with making it a mini vamo. I would like something compact and powerful. Also, where can I get the newer version Sigelei Zmax? Perhaps a starter kit that comes with the charger and everything.

I got mine at vaporheads.net, it is the newer version with no hole in the connector and the extra air slots. It's 89.99 but I used a coupon code to get it for around $80. I chose them because they specifically stated they had a new version and have a picture up of the connector. Vapor Alley has it for 70 but you'd have to ask Rick which version it is.

I'd skip the kit anywhere and just buy the batteries and charger you want. That's with any apv.

Is there still an active coupon for that vaporheads place? Also, the batteries, that's something else I know nothing about. What kind am I going to need? Brand, size etc. Do I want protected batteries? Thanks

I'll let the current Vamo owners confirm exactly which batteries to use, but generally speaking any variable voltage mod will work best with unprotected, high drain batteries. These are call "IMR". These are a "safer chemistry" battery not requiring protection; most all variable voltage mods have built-in safeguards in their circuitry to protect against battery shorts, too.

Now you just need to find out if the Vamo likes flat top or button top batteries. You need the correct ones or it won't work.

FACEBOOK is the coupon code, takes ten percent off.

I would buy 18650 Panasonic CGR18650CH's. I've used both button top and flat top in my zmax. You could alternatively use AW 18650 IMR's. I don't really have experience with any other 18650's so I don't feel good recommending them. As for a charger, it depends on what you want to buy. I would suggest something like an xtar, nitecore or pila but a lot of people use trustfires and have no issues.

He seems to be buying the Sigelei Zmax or at least thinking of it, it doesn't care if you batteries have a button or not.

If you plan to get a ProVari in the future, you would be wise to "Future Proof" your battery purchase, and get button top batteries. The ProVari requires Button Top...

So if you drop coin on a couple of 18650, just make sure you get some high drain IMR's or hybrids (Like the Panasonic), and the Vamo will work just fine! I use the Panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mAh in my Vamo and they work great!
