I'm still very new to the DIY and I'm not familiar with spices and a lot of the tobaccos. I've been able to mix up 2 small bottles of RY4 and add extra caramel and maple which toned down the tobacco but didn't add much sweetness. I have an order of tobaccos and flavors coming in on Monday which I can try.

I'll say this again Carl. If your goal is to mask the tobacco taste, I'd suggest going with bakery flavors instead. You're telling us that you don't like the tobacco taste, even in a very light RY4 flavor. So why go with tobacco flavors at all? I don't get it.

A few thoughts on flavors I got recently from BCV (or, BCF now ... I guess we'll have to start getting used to that). All are still young, so take it for what it's worth.

SC Cohiba - ordered on recommendation from you good folks, and a worthy addition it is. I like this. I don't think I like it as much as some, but it's definitely one for the rotation. Nice relatively dry cigar flavor. Mixed it at 3 percent, wanted a bit more. Added to get around 4 percent and it's nice.

SC Old Captain - got this on a whim. Thought just maybe it would be similar to Hangsen's Elder Captain. It's not. What it is might really thrill a handful of you though. I have almost no doubt whatsoever that this is the base flavor for Nicoticket's The Virus. It's close to identical in flavor, to me. Again, I mixed at 3 percent and ended up adding to get to 4 percent. If you gave this to me blind and asked me to ID it, I'd tell you without hesitation that it's The Virus. Which makes it just a touch on the sweet side for my taste, but a nice rounded flavor nonetheless.

SC French Pipe - another one I grabbed on recommendation. And another one I'm fairly certain I've tasted before. This one has to have been the base for the now defunct Bionic Vapor's Countryside. The flavor is very strong. It also leaves a room note unlike most eliquid. I like bold, strong, distinct flavors, as a rule. This one, however, has just a bit of a cloying note that turns me off. I don't dislike the taste, but the smell of that room note doesn't thrill me. I don't see this one entering the regular rotation.

Black Cherry for Pipe - I ordered this one knowing I probably wouldn't like it. It's just not my thing. BUT, I've enjoyed every other For Pipe flavor that I've ordered, so I wanted to give it a shot. And guess what? I was right. Not for me. The cherry is not understated AT ALL. I can't get cough medicine out of my mind. I even mixed this 1 part to 3 parts with Captain Jack, and the cherry was still way too much and too medicinal.

FA Burley - Mixed at 3 percent, upped to 4, upped to 5. Just not doing much of anything for me. Seems like a dull, uninspired tobacco flavor with almost no nuance whatsoever.

FA Clove - Thought I might try adding a bit of clove to a tobacco vape (Captain Jack) for an interesting twist. Bad idea. This stuff is rat nasty. Run, don't walk, away from this flavor.

Just got some SC old captain and mixed it at 4% and it's really good as a shake and vape. Thank you for the review.

I'm up to page 12 of the 173 pages and have made a few changes to the order I'll be putting in. Dannyv45 is a very good moderator. I'll get some info and take it slow and hopefully I won't have to pour supplies down the drain

Let me help you with some flavors that you will probably like and save you alot of trouble...

Hangsen desert ship
(Grassy,little nutty,good body,full taste,leathery,semi sweet)

Hangsen tab ( compliments other tobacco well)

Inawera dark for pipe (lots of great reviews)

Inawera gold ducat(very complex, darker type of tobacco, sweet, honey, hints of grassy, woodsy, tobacco dominant)

Inawera vanilla for pipe( really mild, tobacco is hard to taste, strong waxy vanilla, add some TA to it for more taste, body)

Inawera Cavendish

Inawera am4a

Inawera Virginia tobacco absolute(2 drops per 10ml fixes most mild tobacco )

Inawera dirty neutral base(ash,dirty,adds body,smokiness,musty)

Inawera tobacco symphony(nutty,peanut buttery,butterscotch,sweet tobacco)

FA cowboy ( pure raw tobacco taste and nothing else)

FA seven leafs ( complex tobacco it's decent)

FA desert ship( very strong so use like 1%, taste is good)

That's a very broad range of tobacco to choose from but there all good to most people except for maybe the FA cowboy..

I've never tried virus but I like this. Have you tried it at 6% yet? I'm not getting the chocolate note though but that's okay I don't like chocolate in tobacco

Next on the list

Inawera am4a..man I am so late to the party on this one lol

Nope I'm sitting at 4. Are you liking 6 better? Feels pretty robust at 4 but maybe I'll try a bump to see....

Oh no I'm at 4% too just wondering how 6 would be. I'm liking the complexity of this juice,it feels and taste authentic. Some tobacco concentrates have that fake taste to them like the FA burley tastes like cedar wood chips to me and nothing else.

Hey guys,
A buddy at work let me drip some of his Hurricane twilight cavendish and I loved it.
Was a nice strong cigar/pipe tobacco flavor with hints of sweetness and oak.

Hurricane is out of business and I would like to recreate a similar type of tobacco juice.
Could anybody help me out with the type of tobaccos that would give me a good base and starting point?

Ive been searching for hours and days and cant find any recipes. I know space jam eclipse uses TFA western (cowboy) as a main tobacco base flavor.... I know twilight cavendish and space jam eclipse are different but just ordered Inawera cavendish, TFA western, and Black honey.
Not sure if I can get a close tobacco by using these or a combination but thats what Ill have to work with as far as tobacco flavors go besides double ry4.

I was thinking maybe 3% cavendish, 1% western, 3% vanilla swirl, 1% toasted almond, 1% oak wood, .5% EM

Anybody have any suggestions or opinions? I havnt made much tobacco DIY juices but really have the taste for a strong, dry, somewhat sweet complex cigar-like vape.

Thanks!

+1 on the garuda and am4a. Both delish. :vapor:
Also +1 on the tirumusu. It's good on it's own and mixes well with several other recipes. Looking forward to your thoughts on all these.

The SC old captain is awesome as shake and vape..also I got Virginia tobacco absolute instead of the garuda.

Hey guys - still lovin my Arabic though I have changed up the recipe and settled in for this one below...one of my 3 main ADVs and since getting the Spheroid v4 this flavor has not left the tank. It amazes me over and over again when I change tanks/atties how a flavor can become a new experience. The Spheroid brings out a warmth to juices I can not reproduce in other atties. I'm not talking about heat - or sub-ohm'in, dual coil'in, fancy twisted braided double back-flip ZZTop builds - warmth - like that yumminess that is in the middle of a chocolate cake that is undercooked and gooey - that kinda warmth!

Anywho...so I found I have Tobacco Absolute Virginia WG-INW

Does this need to be diluted as in 10% dilution that I see talked about around here? I thought that was for some tobacco paste or something. This looks like normal flavoring.

Very possible I have asked this before but I need to mix up some juice for a few folks trying to kick the habit and while looking through my stash I came across this flavor and thought they may like it.

On topic post

My ADV Arabic

Arabic 3.3%
DX Peanut Butter TFA 1% (I like this profile better than the regular peanut butter but you can sub it if you like)
DX Brown Sugar 2% (sometimes I get froggy and go 3% - Arabic can take it as it is very strong)

I don't steep this but if you do it mellows very nicely after about a month.

Does Arabic have a floral taste to it? Can you describe the taste?

I'd add Inawera's Dark For Pipe to this list of must-haves.
