Now you're going to force me to mix another batch and try black cigar again lol. I put it aside as too chocolate but maybe I didn't give it a fair chance. :) What does it taste like to you?

It taste like a sweet, musky, smooth cigar with a hint of chocolate... Adding AP and methylbutyraldehyde almost completely muted the cigar flavor. Same with a small amount of EM. I will be trying it with dragon fruit and lemon next. I did drop some on a wick wet with gold and silver HS and it was definitely something to remember to try again

I didn't get much cigar. Now I definitely have to try it again. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance. So many flavors, so little time lol.

How much AP and methylbutyraldehyde did you use? methylbutyraldehyde I use .25 to .5% and AP I use 1 - 2%. It's powerful stuff and may have no place with that particular tobacco. For instance it goes great with NO.5 or highway but not so good with lets say s-camel or Red USA. AP and methylbutyraldehyde really has no place in a cigar blend you may actually be better of using .5% EM with a virginia TA for that particular tobacco. Or if your looking to add a little tobacco sweetness skip the EM and use the rustica TA.

Yeah I ended up just going straight Black Cigar, 80 PG / 20 VG and I might drop the Black Cigar back to 2%. I have been getting an excellent / intense vape for the 1st few pulls then the favor almost disappears! I don't know if it is overloading my taste buds or what--I'm thinking it is....so far it is the only favorite that seems to be doing this. I tried it with new coils, in a RDA and a RTA, same in both. You are right about AP and methylbutyraldehyde not having a place in a cigar blend...just thought I'd try! I used .5% AP and .25% methyl.

You could be right about over flavoring but then again maybe it just needs some steep time. 40 minutes is hardly enough time to steep a tobacco. Try 2 - 3 hours.

VZ French Pipe is another excellent flavor.
Before I forget, if you're into VZ (I like a lot of their flavors too) you might want to try their French Pipe. It's my favorite right now and has been for a while. It's hard to describe, kind of a little cigar, a little chocolate, a little vanilla and a little caramel. None of the flavors dominate the others so it's hard to say what it tastes like, just a tasty blend. I vape a ton of it at 3%.

I just tried VZ French Pipe yesterday and IMO it's just as strong a flavor as Black Cigar and definitely a very complex flavor. I'm now happily vaping them both at 2% in 100% PG, shaking and vaping, no steep. I also revisited a mix Danny recommended to me (Hangsen gold and silver 8%, Mothers milk or samara TA 2%, Inawera chocolate 2%, EM .5%) and wow! it definitely has become a beast in a week of steeping. The only thing I'd like to change is to try it in 100% PG (or maybe 90 PG / 10 VG with a lower NIC of 3 - 6mg).

holy .... sauce. 2% VZ Black Cigar, 2% Bavarian Cream, 2% Toasted Marshmallow in 100% PG is something amazing! Maybe I need to try some other VG's or find an alternative base for achieving a lower viscosity. I currently use Essential Depot's VG. For the time being I will definitely be revisiting other mixes using 100% PG.

Add distilled water to your VG heavy mixes to thin it. 5 - 10% works well.

I start at 5% then go from there. My INW TA's (no nic) are 5% but I blend them into other tobacs after its steeped a few weeks. The Virginia TA is super sweet but the garuda is nowhere near as sweet but a much better TA. I don't like to vape sweetness all the time so my Hangsen tobacs with some TA is just right.
