Done!
I smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for almost thirty-one years. Tried the patch, Zyban and nicotine lozenges in a desperate attempt to quit because my physician said that my repeated bouts of pneumonia and chronic bronchitis were directly related to my cigarette smoking.
Frustrated with my inability to quit, one day in late October of 2011, I purchased a disposable electronic cigarette at a local gas station. (Here in Ohio, you have to be 21 to purchase these. And that's as it should be!) I was pleasantly surprised by my experience with it, and went on to purchase a couple of rechargeable electronic cigarettes and some e-juice online.
Bottom line, I completely gave up cigarettes on October 29th, 2011. I don't smoke anymore. I vape. Electronic cigarettes have saved me approiximately ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS over my Marlboro habit in the past year. I haven't suffered from pneumonia during this past year and my bronchitis is gone..
My family no longer breathes second-hand smoke. I spend money with small businesses (one of which currently has four job openings posted!) who provide me with a host of choices in nicotine juice flavors, and I've reduced my nicotine level on those "e-juices" from 24 mg to 18 mg with no side effects.
I honestly believe these electronic cigarettes can be a life-saving alternative for those who want to quit smoking but find themselves unable to do so. Banning or restricting these wonderful devices to those 21 and over would be detrimental to the health of the American public.
And me. Please...let the electronic cigarette live, so that many of us can live longer, healthier lives.
