Now we are buying mods because we are afraid that FDA will make our life tougher in a near future. We want mods that will serve for a long time.
One of the weaker links for all mods (mech and regulated) is 510 connector.
So my question: which 510 connector will serve longer?
It looks like I have an answer about material of the body - it should be stainless steel. For copper and aluminum possibility to strip threads it high.
I do not know which type of center pin is better. I think floating pin is the worst and regulated (with a screwdriver) pin is the best, with spring loaded pin in between them. But I am far from sure.

SS = Strongest
Rule #1 = Snug, not tight. Tight Damages lesser metals.
Rule #2 = Tight is tight, to Tight is often Broken.

Watch the length of 510's when purchasing. A Few tanks and RDA's have extended 510 threading with a top gap that causes the RTA/RDA to sit high. these usually get over tightened, damaging center pins.
Regulated Mods - Quality, Proper length 510 RTA/RDA and a Spring loaded pin will never give a problem.
Keep the 510 clean(q-tip) whenever removing RTA/RDA.

None of my Regulated Boxes have had any 510 issues at all. I own a lot of Mid level Mods. :D

I use Kato Square mods and KFL + v2 clones. Steel on steel threads. Screw for a 510 pin on the mods(hybrid style topcap???). No worries about "folding" the tank off of the mod. I think the weak link for me is the 510 on the KFL clones. I will have 9/10(total, with a mix of EHPRO and Infinite) of those within a month, and use 1 at a time.

I think that I am good. Only time will tell.

If you're handy and the 510 has some metal around it (won't work for some regulated mods) Fat Daddy Vapes sells a 510 repair kit. You drill out the threads, tap it, and screw in an insert. Edit: the inserts are labelled "Classic 510 Connector" sold in sets of 3, you need to source an 8.5mm drill bit and a 10mmx1.5mm tap to use them.

If regulations hold, I think domestic production of grey/black market devices will migrate towards mod-atty hybrids. The .5mm pitch of the 510 sucks anyway. New users won't have a collection of 510 threaded atties.

510 connections have always been the weak link in mod and atty design.
My solution, which I realize isn't for everybody:
I have 12 mods in rotation, all with attys on them. I just don't remove and reinstall attys on mods very often; only when I'm rebuilding the coils. Once I match an atty up with a mod, that's where it stays.

Mods arent going anywhere.
Anyone that tells you different is either uninformed or has an agenda.
Problem is, many people will not know where to look. Indiana - a large amount of B&M's are Closing July1.

I had never heard of Vaping or E-cigarettes until 4 months before I committed to give them an honest try. Thankfully, after much research, I did!

This is correct. IMHO, We should be sharing relevant information, however it is not allowed.

I cant elaborate due to ECFs rules.
Last time I tried, all posts were deleted.

Let me just say personal vaporizers (the same ones we use) are used in other industries NOT regulated by the FDA, and they will continue to be available.
