Done and done! this is some bs to say the least. The FDA needs a good old fashioned pimp slap extra baby powder to put them in their place, they need to be reminded that it is us that funds and thus runs them. We are their best interest not the (deleted) grossly overcompensating drug companies that have just discovered a miracle cure that when taken properly can cause flatulence and death but you know... they pay a lot to the FDA so...... hell why not give them the go ahead.

Is there an industry group? An e-cigarette/e-juice sellers association? There should be. The people that sell this stuff face the biggest risk of all. They should unite together and fight. I envision a well-organized association that can counter the evil forces of government and the tobacco industry. Officers need to be appointed and membership should be charged to vested interests. There can be three types of memberships. The big companies can pay full membership fees for more voting rights. The smaller companies could pay smaller fees and have smaller voting rights. And consumers can join for free. They can be allowed one vote but due to their larger numbers can still have a major stake in what the organization does and spends the money to lobby with government.

It is important to unify. To be a powerful force, we must be well organized in order to confront our opponents. If a well-organized interest group is formed, people will flock to it from all over. A well structured organization that can unite its followers into a concerted effort can be a powerful force.

We do it's CASAA, everyone on this form should join and donate whatever you can further the cause. CASAA is always looking for members to help in their areas to stay informed and alert others in the organization of upcoming issues. Its a good cause.

Thanks,
Jeff

Excellent post. I am a member....are you? If not, why not?
Cry all we want, but without a united front, we will continue to cry. Put some of your money where your mouth is. I did, weeks ago.

Agreed, CASAA is working VERY hard to make sure we get to keep vaping. They are doing an outstanding job of representing us at all of these committees and also organizing us with phone numbers and emails of legislators to get our voices into their ears. Tune in to www.vapersplacecom and VapeTV - ECig Reviews & ECig Entertainment and get caught up on where we are at in all of this and what needs to be done still. Kevin has Yolanda on pretty often and there was a segment the other night on vapetv where Luciano had them on skype. I knew they were working on all of this, but after hearing these ladies on these shows, I now see that I had no idea just how MUCH they really are doing. Support them any way you can. They need it and they DESERVE it!

Hi. I sent the letter to my senator and here is the response I received:

Thank you for contacting me about electronic cigarettes.

Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in the United States. About 400,000 smokers die each year as a result of tobacco-related diseases, and it's estimated that as many as 50,000 non-smokers die annually from illnesses caused by exposure to secondary smoke. Smoking is a dangerous addiction and I believe that Americans, particularly young people, deserve to be fully aware of the risks of using tobacco products.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced on June 22, 2009 that electronic cigarettes, or "e-cigarettes," contain the same carcinogens and toxins that are also found in anti-freeze. These products have not been submitted to the FDA for analysis or approval, and the FDA has only performed limited testing on different brands to analyze what levels of nicotine and other chemicals are present in e-cigarettes. The FDA is concerned about the safety of these products, especially how they are being marketed to young adults.

The "Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act" was signed into law by President Obama on June 22, 2009. This law gives the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) the legal authority to regulate tobacco products. This includes some restriction of tobacco advertisements, stronger warning labels, and the authority to remove certain ingredients from tobacco products that are deemed hazardous.

I believe that this newly enacted law will go a long way toward protecting the public - and better educating our children - about the consequences of tobacco use, and I was pleased to see it signed into law.

Again, thank you for contacting me about this issue. I appreciate having the benefit of your views and hope you will contact me again in the future if I may be of further assistance.

Sincerely,

Herb Kohl
United States Senator
