I'm glad I did't do it either. My sister used it to quit and still has trouble sleeping- years later. No thanks.

The best thing you can do is teach your kids to read scientific studies- leaving it up to the "experts" to think for them is increasingly dangerous. I'll leave it at that...the FDA doesn't have many friends on this forum- so it's preaching to the choir.

The FDA IS SO controlled by how much money the lobbyist give them from the Govt officials they don't know whether there coming or going half the time, hell even when they do get caught they cant protect each other, this administration needs to be closed down, I wish just once someone would set them up and get about 4 of the top people in the FDA on film taking a bribe because that's what it would take, one wouldn't be enough, what a disgrace the FDA is.

Isn't it funny you can walk into a drug store and buy a bunch of different vitamins and bogus quick fix drugs and on the bottle it says " this product has not been researched & approved by the FDA" THEN WHY IS IT ON THE DAM SHELF !!! Yet they want to be involved with our vaping world, Gee do you think it's only about TAX INCOME FROM LOSS OF CIGARETTE SALES ? YES !!!

Because oddly, that statement is mandated by the FDA. Take something like echinacea for a cold- and it has that warning on it. I swear by echinacea and it's been very well studied by other countries, but the FDA hasn't studied it because the FDA doesn't study anything. It's up to the drug companies to do the research, and apply for approval.

My point was though it makes it to the shelf for sale ? so any product can make it to the shelf for sale, can I go grab some tree bark put it in a capsule and label it as a miracle cold killing drug ? it sure appears that I can with some of the products I see on the shelf, Internet, TV. Radio for sale, yet the FDA doesn't recognize or look at any of these products and puts on the back labels that they have not approved this product, yet they want to get involved with ecigs ? what's the dam difference here ?

My girl friend used Chantix shortly after it came out. She ended up going into uncontrollable crying hysterias. She was having a breakdown and didnt know why. THis was behavior that was completely unlike anything she had experienced before. I noted that the only thing that changed that week was that she was using Chantix so she stopped. It took several weeks for the behavior to subside gradually. Its bad stuff to say the least. I predicted after that episode that we would be hearing more about this drug and its negative effects and sure enough more and more is coming out about it.

Yup...you're right. It doesn't make any darn sense at all.

The FDA has a weird way of operating- and I can't even begin to follow their "logic". I'm actually fairly well versed in certain FDA regulations, and I still can't follow it (yes, you can sell tree bark, but you can't say it cures the common cold- then it gets regulated as a drug instead of a supplement). Thinking about it too hard hurts my head. It's like trying to reason with a drunk person.

I don't actually disagree with a little bit of regulation in the ecig market to keep it safe, and add a layer of respectability to it- but sanity, and common sense need to rule their rule making. I'm not betting on them getting it right.

I can LEGALLY poison myself with booze, herbs, cigarettes, junk food, and even prescribed drugs, but my heavens- enjoying a little flavored glycerin withs some nicotine- and it's "call out the National Guard, and stop 'em at the border!"

I don't get it either. You'd think with all of the various prescription drug problems that they'd have better things to think about and regulate. I think we all understand it though...$$$$$$$$
