The article just says they will probably grant the extension from 75 days to 180 days. Keep asking, but estimates are they will perform that extension so as to appear fair. (Notice I said APPEAR!)

I didn't see much that Indicated that an Extension Would or Wouldn't be granted.

I think people should Continue to "Hope for the Best. Plan for the Worst."

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, like some sort of court-ordered deadline, the FDA tends to go with the extensions..

Of course, we probably won't find out until the last week or 2 of the original comment period...

Of course not! If they told us in a timely manner, the extension would be USEFUL. Can't have that!

I think it's likely they will grant an extension, but it's likely they won't unless we keep the pressure up to grant one. Sort of a catch 22 in that you can't take it for granted even when you can. The FDA reminds me a lot of Dr. Suess.

I agree.

And I Hope that people do Not Forget that you can Contact the FDA at Anytime. And that Contacting peoples Federal Reps and asking them to Request that the FDA do whatever should be SOP.

I have read and reread the article and cannot find any indication (other than the headline) that FDA is willing to or contemplating extending the comment period. I would (personally) be pleasantly surprised if they do, but I'm not holding my breath.

Found this in the Comments:
Gordon Restrepo Simian Steam • 17 hours ago

Actually, the Zeller quote is a paraphrase from the testimony he gave to a US Senate Committee the week before last. I know, because I watched him say it live on CSPAN.

And, horror of horrors, vapers are saying they favor the regs! And Restrepo says that is all the FDA wants to do, is regulate ingredients! Folks, we have more social media work to do, DAMN.
