A Drug Recall That Should Frighten Us All About The FDA - Forbes

This is the SAME FDA that says that Wellbutrin is a safe drug to use for smoking cessation.

The same FDA that says drugs like Wellbutrin and Chantix are preferable to vaping.

Wake up people, and once you are awake, wake up all your friends and relatives. The FDA is not interested in our health, and will only take action when the TRUTH becomes too obvious for them to deny...

This is the same FDA that approves drugs that are advertised every day on TV, where the announcer encourages you to "ask your doctor about XYZ" and then reads a long list of horrible side-effects (sometimes including causing cancer, stroke and death) in soothing tones. The hypocrisy is stunning.

BUT BUT BUT GUISE THEY KNOW WHAT'S BETTER FOR US THAN WE DO

[/sarcasm]

Side effects may include dry mouth, headaches, incontinence, rectal prolapse, rectal itch, hair loss, hair growth, sudden cravings for crab juice, pica, cross-eyedness, slurring words, and compulsive repetition of the word POTATO.

BUT AT LEAST MY EYES AREN'T DRY ANYMORE.

Ill bet most people dont know that the reason the drug companies do that is so they can get subsidies from the FDA. If they can prove the cost of making the drug is at a loss then the government is compelled by law to help them. Running expensive prime time ads is one way of assuring they lose money on those drugs.

Ever see one of those commercials and think why would anyone take that after hearing all the side effects? Drug companies arent worried about that because they want to lose a little money to gain the big payoff in the end. This also does VERY little to discourage them from putting bad drugs on the market to begin with.

keep this article and others like it out in the public eye so when push comes to shove on vaping we could give a public lashing of who is at the center of FDA's best intrest for whom are they protecting by baning ecigs. with the amount of vaping going on since (pick a year..2009) and the amount of people using PV's our (trials)widespread useage should prove their safety/effectiveness and trump anything they could possible dream of for case studies. Honestly what ever the magic number is of Vapers and how many have had problems with vaping i would wager that, the percentage would be hard to register an infinitesimal number, now compair that to anything over the counter let alone prescription. bottom line results dont matter with the FDA money does, send things threw and get a job with big pharma, people die o'well we calculated it into the cost of doing business.

I would like to add a step to the 8 things the FDA should do immediately. I would also like it to be numbered 1. STOP TAKING MONEY FROM BP!!!!!!!!!! Plain and simple. If that step were initiated, the others would not be required because the drugs would be truly tested and approved or disapproved accordingly. When you take money out of the equation then, and only then, will safety come first.

I was prescribed Wellbutrin to quit smoking. Not only did it NOT WORK, it made me feel hyper, couldn't sleep and my body felt like I had a thousand bees buzzing through my veins. The doc said I needed to be on it a month to feel the positive effects. After a week, I trashed the bottle. I quit smoking after a week of vaping! Successfully! The only side effect is my wallet is empty, but I have plenty of juice. I can live with that!

And I am guessing you also don't have headache, constipation, blurred vision, upset stomach, muscle twitches, vomiting, nausea, sleep walking, suicidal thoughts, dry eyes, muscle pain, heavy period, light period, stomach ulcers, internal bleeding, bone pain, hair loss, hair growth, infected hairs, dry mouth, tooth loss, or any of the other "side effects" of all the other FDA approved drugs.

When the people who are supposed to be looking out for our health think the above list of effects are "side effects" and totally acceptable in the process of "getting better" then we, as a people, need to stand up and say "ENOUGH!!!!!!!". This is in no way acceptable to me, as I am sure it is not to anyone here either, and we need to wake people up to this BS that is happening on our dime.

And don't even get me started with the FDA "regulation" of our food. Just as shody but even more scary because everyone has to eat but not everyone has to take a pill.

Many countries ban advertising of prescription drugs. I think that's a great thing but my strong libertarian views put me between a rock and hard place. No more regulations on vaping or anything else!

Then the next add is from a law firm saying that if you used XYZ you can get in on the law suit ;)

I for one, would love to see their feet held to the fire for this.

Not entirely sure if this is an example of the Peter Principle at work or gross negligence on the part of all levels of management.

The Congress needs to really bear down on Sibelius over this and keep the FDA and DHHS busy cleaning up their own piles of excrement. Maybe we can slip thru the cracks for another couple of years and gain more strength.

Has anyone seen anything that indicates Sibelius ever responded to the two demands for information that the Congress previously issued? I have seen nothing in print.

BP insists "ask your doctor ..." to be included in all advertisements.
