Hmm..no talk of coil diameter and thickness of wick.

Worth discussing i.m.o.

(apologies if I've missed something here...)

28 guage, about 8 or 9 wraps, and have done coils at 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.0mm diameter. Wick is sterile cotton from CVS. I basically just use enough cotton so that it fills the diameter of the coil without being too tight or too loose. I find that with a 3mm diameter coild i have to use alot more cotton and the ends that you tuck down onto the deck end up being pretty big and i usually cut them down a bit.

I'm right there with you bro. I too, have the EH Pro model. I've been wrestling with mine for two weeks. I've tried everything, watched vids and it is just pathetic. The flavor is great, but very little vapor. If I put very many watts to it, it dry hits quick. It works best on an MVP or Itaste VV3 or smok Epipe. Worst on Sigelei 7x20 and Kamry 101. If I remove the beauty ring from the Sigelei, it works kinda OK. Basically on all of them tho, it's like trying to suck a watermelon thru a straw even with the airflo screw completely removed. I can get a much better vape on my PT II's with rebuilt coils. This is the only rebuildable I can't get a handle on. I've got a Trident, Promethius, Kracken and Patriot and can build them all for some great vape. Not this thing tho. I've turned it over to a buddy who has a buddy that is supposed to be King of the Kayfun. I'll see how it went tomorrow.

One more thing make sure the screws are tight enough, I did the chimney coil via riptrippers its true,it was the best vape ever but too damn hot hahaha, I currently have 26 g on a 20g needle 10 wraps it decent
how on earth did you get 26g in there without the screw backing out on ya? I have a hard enough time with my 28G coming loose lol. I hated that chimeny coil, the flavor was defiantly more..."saturated" I guess is the term but it chocked my airflow off too much for my liking I got spoiled by the Igo W3 and cant stand tight draws anymore.

ok here is my best guess at helping you disassemble the whole unit I mean every part especially the 510 pin remove it completely. first take a small wire and fish it into the vent hole on the base of the unit make sure there is nothing in there to block airflow remove the adjustment screw and do the same, now look at the 510 center pin there will be a hole straight through it mid way between the threads and screw head make sure its open and clear, now look down the center and make sure thats clear and you can see daylight coming in from the holes drilled all the way through, now look into the cavity in the base make sure there is nothing in there that could cover any air passages The reason for this is because the unit is machined there can be metal chips in any part of the unit there can also be passages that were not completely opened Flush out the entire unit to make sure there is nothing in the unit that shouldn't be.

Bigcatdaddy look up navy nest build on youtube I'm betting it will solve your problem. shoot for a coil build around 1.2 -1.5 ohms as near as you can get it. you can use cotton on the build but silica works very well with this design. make sure after you lay the wick in the channel area that you leave enough to wrap over the screw heads and tuck into the opposite channel area this will keep your wick hydrated no dry hits.

Just a thought have you removed the center post and checked it for debris , also is the airhole in the center post properly lined up with the airhole in the base ?

I did remove it recently and blew air through everything and washed it all out. Good point about the alignment. I just built another coil and looks like everything is aligned well.

I gave the chimney coil a try one time and was not too impressed. I think I did a pretty good build of it as well, but it vaped like a normal coil and was a little more of a pain in the ... so i have not built another one. Might give it another try. Going to try another silica build as well and see if that helps. this is so frustrating.

if you take the air screw all the way out does this still happen try vaping it that way just to check. Also is it possible the screw is somehow readjusting its self. a tiny piece of thread tape will hold it in place. it really makes no sense if there is nothing obstructing the airway and no cotton is being sucked into the air path coil is 1.5-2mm off the deck. then gremlin forces are at work here. I have found sometimes Ill partly cover the vent hole with my fingers while vaping that would be the only other cause.

I will give it a try later with the air screw completely out. The screw seems to stay in its place and not self adjusting. whenever i take if off to fill it i look at that screw and its aligned exactly how it was the last time i looked. Definitely gremlins. I have tried everything and it still does it. It does vape, and i do use it daily, but the draw is annoying and sometimes i get crappy flavor and vapor. I wonder if maybe my CVS cotton has anything to do with it? The sterile cotton comes in a roll is is layered, as in, you can peel layers off of it easily. I wonder if actual cotton balls would be different. Not sure how wicking material would give me the airflow constriction I am getting especially when no air channels are blocked. Really have no idea what is going on. Oh, my fingers never get near the airhole when its on my provari, so its for sure not that.

funny thing, is that the best vape i had off it was at 10,000 feet in about 35 degree temps. The vape was unreal! I filled the tank at that altitude and it vaped amazing the whole time until i when back down the mountain and the outside temp raised to maybe 60 or 70.

Found this, check out post 8 and on:

Kayfun lite plus teething problems

I have resolved the problem now. It was the green rubber ball in the airflow that was to low down. If you remove the airflow adjuster screw you can see it. Basically you just need to sick a very small screw driver in the airflow hole at the side and push the rubber ball upwards (towards the tank) until you can see the screwdriver pass all the way through and into the airhole of the terminal block. Then screw back in and it's looser than a protank. Try it and let me know how you got on.

Where the airflow grub screw is, there is a small little rubber ball, find something small enough and just gently push it down and it will seat correctly in the bottom, if you screw the grub screw down alot, it will destroy the ball as it has done with mine, although it seaps out of the grub screw now but im not sure its because of that.

Yes, there is a green piece of rubber down inside the air path (it's an anti whistle thingie) and that can sometimes not get pushed all the way into its slot. Remove the grub screw and push it all the way home. Put the grub screw back in and test your air flow. If you just can't get it working properly please contact the vendor you got it from
