Hi guys, after a bit of advice! Have been off the fags for months now, and so happy! However, am not happy with the gurgling/leaking issues with my Kanger evod. Just not reliable enough, sometimes they are awesome but sometimes so bad I'm tempted back to the fags (resisted so far). Any recomendations for a good clearomiser/tank/cartomiser (not sure of the correct nomenclature!) that doesn't have these issues?? Am using a vision spinner battery, and don't really want to rebuild as not sure I'm up to that. Thanks xxxx

I no longer use them but I loved the the evod's. I never experience any issues but I always took the flavor wick off the top and built my own coils. When I filled it up I put a napkin over the mouth piece and shook it several times like a old time thermometer before I put it on. The only reason I don't use them now is because I found I preferred dripping. Good luck to you. Hope something helps. Happy vaping to you.

A lot of it seems to come down to luck. I've never used evods, but used to buy protanks and whilst some versions had various issues i have never had problems with the pt3, although since someone recommended the BVC coils for the aspire nautilus i would say that is the most reliable clearo i have used. The Aspire clearos that djsvapour linked above look very similar to the ones used in the nautilus so should be a good bet too.

Personally, i prefer carto tanks, but they can have gurgling / leaking issues too sometimes although thats almost always from over-filling the carto and just soaking it up with a tissue for a few minutes resolves that problem.

Does it suddenly gurgle and leak when you go outside? Any liquid in any tank has its pressure affected by temperature. Its very common to have leaking/ flooding issues (thats what makes the gurgling noise) when your going outside on a hot day or even inside from a really cold day. Simplest way to solve the flooding is take the bottom cap/atty off and carefully blow out the chimney. When I used those tanks I would often loosen the cap before going outside and tighten when I got to my car to allow the pressure to adjust without leaking. Another common culprit is how often do you clean your tanks? Cleaning is very important to keeping it performing well. If you are convince its time for a new tank I loved the t3s and a nautilus is also pretty nice.

Thanks for all the replies! Great article on the fix Shirtbloke - will have to give it a try! I've got a nautilus, but don't like the metal flavour of the tip, and seems harder to draw on for some reason, so not been overly impressed! Might try the aspire bvc you linked djsvapour, see if it's any better. Got to better than going back on the fags though.... If I tried to rewick the evod, is it very difficult, and where is the best place to get the silica wick from????xx

Don't waste your time with Silica. (too long to explain). (I have metres of the stuff doing nowt)

Maybe find Jonco (that's his user name on AAEC UK) and buy some of his microcoils that you change the cotton wool in every so often.

I agree with djsvapour. Don't bother with silica wick. I think at this stage for you rebuilding an evod is maybe too advanced. I find it more fiddly than rebuilding a dripper or a kayfun. I would see if that fix for your evod helps because really I don't think an evod gives a bad vape at all, or persevere with your nautilus. What airflow setting have you got it set to? (as you said the draw is harder)

Best way to clean them???

I just rinse the tank in warm water a few times and dry it before putting the coil back in. You could also try dry burning the coil. Watch some of these:

Recoiling with a 1/16" drill bit for a coil form and using organic cotton for the wick allows you to pop off the air tube, remove the cotton, dry burn efficiently, and replace the wick with new cotton in a matter of minutes. The coil can last weeks. You just replace the wicks. Use a small piece of cotton for the flavor wicks. Most of the Kanger single coil heads are the same design as the TS3 head from Kanger. They are just different sizes to fit the atomizer.

Rip Trippers does the tutorial for the TS3 type Kanger head using cotton wicking.
