Maybe this is pointing out the obvious but it sure wasn't obvious to me. I picked up a ipv2 two weeks ago and thought it was amazing. I had already saw Phil's review and a few others that talked about the scratches on the screens. I'm sure one I saw even made the comment it looked like it had plastic over it but it didn't. Well, sure enough the display, finger sensor, and the "stars" all looked as described. My display looked like it had a huge mark in the center. I expected this so I wasn't too bummed. Everything else was perfect on it. Well that big mark on the display kept getting worse and finally this morning I started messing with it. Low and behold it was just plastic on it! I went and grabbed a pick and started on the touch sensor and the other long strip. Every single "scratch" on all three was just protective plastic. All three were perfect under the plastic. I might be the only person that trusted the reviews and never thought to pick at them but I was so happy to see those shiny pieces of plastic I had to share my discovery.
Feel like I got a whole new ipv2!!!

You are right, the protective film is very well fitted and is imperceptible at first glance. Unfortunately for me I still had scratches underneath but nothing major, its going to get messed up with daily use anyway.

I guess it's kind of a dumb thing to be excited about. Lol everything else was just so perfect for me (especially the price) it was just a shame for the screens to look like crap.
Not dumb at all, I am sure your right and a lot of people are unaware of the protective covering.
Mine was just a bit sketchy on the outside which doesn't bother me personally as I got it as a beater mod anyway, but for the price the performance is phenomenal in my opinion!
