feeling much better tonight. got some great info/links from you guys on my last post about what to expect bodily wise as i go through this change. got my lower nicotine dose cartridges today, so that took care of that part. the rest of the ickyness really feels like the detoxing of "something else" in the cigarettes. like the weird restlessness. that shouldnt last for very much longer. its funny how i am forgetting what i have gone trough when detoxing w/out the vaping...

drank a LOT of fluids today. water and orange juice. and took vitamins. melotonin to help me sleep here soon.

prolly order the manual 808 from V4L tomorrow, and get some flavors. i am not ready for the ego/riva yet. am going to try and stay w a 2 piece for simplicity, and those just look weird to me still.

my cats would be a pain in the .... if i did the syringe thing. and i really dont even want to worry or fool w all that. so if the 808 is good i will prolly stay there. of course i may eat my words very soon...

i have always been rebellious, and it really gets me off to sit there and vape at work. i know i am going to want to vape in class next week! i will have to wait and do it in the bathroom tho...

on the way home from work tonight i listened to an anti smoking radio commercial loud and proud for once...instead of cringing and turning it off b/c it made me feel bad...

i am seriously in love. oh, and you people ROCK with all this info and help on here!

What kind of flavors are you looking at? Im new as well, been vaping about a week, never thought quitting could be this much fun! I only have 2 flavors at the moment energy cow and double mint. Both are just "ok" but better than yucky cigarettes.. lol Should be getting juice order tomorrow cant wait! Anyhow, good luck to you, this forum is pretty awesome XD

I find that vape flavors become more apealling once the cravin for that 'real cig taste' wears off. A week or two of the cigs and your tounge being clean again, I found I started liking fruity and menthol flavors which before I might have said were 'faggy' or 'not the same as real smoking or whatever (excuse my French.)

My one piece of advice to fellow newbs so far would be - the sooner you let go of that 'exactly like a cigarette but less harmful' way of thinking and think of it as vaping instead of a smoke replacement, you start enjoying new flavours and realise how cool it is to have so many options.

I mean I like hookahs too and with cherry, cinamon and apple out there - there is no way i'd ask the guy at the hookah bar for 'an only tobacco flavor' shisha!

That would be to me now like going into a NY deli and asking for just bread and butter as a sandwich!

I was a menthol smoker, full flavor 1/2 pk a day.. Quit when I got pregnant but alas! It wasnt enough to stick. I thought I would never smoke again after going so long w/o it but I jumped right back on the wagon :( anyhow. This vaping thing has been an eye opener! I have no desire to go after that "cigarette taste" Ick! I seem to enjoy the menthol quite a bit though... was always a fan of Malboro Smooths.. but vaping a menthol or mint is even better! Order from madvapes were 3 dessert flavors that ranked pretty well (sweet tooth lol) and a 50ml of Dekang Menthol, which Im wondering if I may regret? idk. I say that because it was so dang cheap.. and most times I find you get what you pay for whatever the product may be!

The progression so many of us go through can be so funny to me sometimes. We all seem to start out with something that looks and "feels" as much like an analog as possible because we can't imagine these weird contraptions ever ACTUALLY replacing an analog. Then we realize how great it is, but get sick of changing batteries... so we apprehensively step it up a notch with a slightly longer battery - still keeping with the diameter and general shape of a cigarette. Then we sliiiiide ever closer to the "fat batts" and go for the eGo/Riva - not much bigger than a "Sharpie" pen (or so I've seen them compared to)... then something hits and we're drooling over cool-looking wooden box mods and juice feeders and bottom feeders and... and... and...

Then there's the flavors. We start out afraid to stray too far from the death-stix flavor of choice (menthol, marlboro/camel/etc). We laugh at people that talk about how great "strawberry shortcake" is and think - no way in h*ll I'm smokin a strawberry! Then we vape for awhile and again, apprehensively think - hmmm, mayyyybe I'll try something kind of different, but "tame" like...caramel, or chocolate. Next thing you know you're ordering 15 sample packs of some of the most exotic flavors out there, and loving several of them!

Then we go on to try and explain all of this to the new folks that show up here each day asking what kit they should start with, or what flavors taste good. We sit back and chuckle to ourselves every time we hear "I only want something that looks like a cigarette" or "I don't want any of those weird fruity flavors" - because we know, we've been there too.

I love this forum!

If you hold the vape longer (reduces the amount of vapor exhaled) and blow it down toward your chest or lap you should be able to hide the vapor in a bathroom stall. I did at a family event in a religious building's bathroom. So nice to not have to sneak out in the cold to smoke. I also used a flavor mix that would smell like fruit or perfume (peach in a weak smelling tobacco juice).

Flavors - I was mainly doing tobaccos but I am really getting into vanillas. I actually vaped vanilla all day at work - no tobacco juice at all even though I had some tobacco juice in my pocket. Love peach too. Still searching for a good chocolate (a tough flavor to make) and a good raspberry.

This is a GREAT post. SOOOOOOO true! :)

It tickled me too, because I did the exact same thing. Started with a Joye510, then went to longer battery, then went to the eGO. All in less than a month!

I ALSO went with a tobacco flavor first, then chocolate, then caramel, then vanilla. I've really branched out a lot from there. Haven't gone fruity yet...but I'm sure I'll try some of those too! :)

Spent $225 in the past week and my first PV isn't even here yet. Was very disappointed that USPS didn't bring it today and had to txt DH to bring me home what I hope is my last pack of cigs (cross fingers it gets here tomorrow). I am a 1.5-2 PAD mreds smoker.

I researched a ton. I need performance, variety in vendors, and versatility. What I settled on was an eGo plus some extra 510 batts so I can see if that helps with that traditional cig feeling (or just use it for out and about town). Then I can swap the attys between both batt sizes.

I'm now obsessed with figuring out juices and nic strength (18 or 24). I would hate to run out of whatever works, so I kind of have a lot of different juices from various vendors ordered so hopefully can get that straightened out within a week or two so I'm fully stocked for the next 90 days.

i LOVE your avatar. am going to have to find a cute kitteh one today at work i think. i uploaded the only pic on my HD smaller than 10 kb lol its my first flower bed.

yes i am content to follow the progression you have described. gradual change has its benefits, and i want this to be for good. plus, i live in indiana w a bunch of hicks. ppl started staring at lunch on wednesday when i was showing the pv to my friends. and i wasnt even trying to vape it at the table.

i have a little extra money right now, so if i stumble a little getting this set up, thats ok. i will end up saving so much in the long run.

i will def get some flavor sample packs w todays order! i am actually getting excited about trying them! somewhere on this site i am wondering if i will find a V4L coupon code...

The only downfall to vaping is LOTS OF TOYS AND BUNCHES OF FLAVORS! No it's not for everyone but most find out they love it. FreedomSmokeUSA is a great place for samples...almost 100 to choose from. They have excellent customer service also which is always a plus.

Dekang juice which is produced in China has a bit of a chemical taste. Not bad in any way but just a warning. Taste is subjective. What one person likes, you may not. I like their tobacco mixed with FSUSA's 555. Cuts it down to a very enjoyable vape.

Don't worry about being stared at. Quitting is the most important thing for you. Congradulations for that. I always showed off my PV's to people very proudly, especially if they were smokers. Then go into how I gave up smoking and all the goodies and flavors that are available. I have converted 21 people so far including my doctor.

If money becomes an issue, watch the classified thread. As people upgrade, they usually sell their equipment. You can usually find really good deals.

Enjoy it and welcome to ECF.
