I went back to smoking in 2009 and again in 2011 after having gear that "didn't do it for me" either. Get a good kit with some good toppers and strong juice. The first two weeks required extra "strong" juice for me, then I was able to drop it down. This kit will get the job done with some good juice:

Try the Spinners and Protanks. Add juice. Will get the job done. Promise! Best to you, and good luck. Doesn't matter that you're smoking, what matters is that you keep trying. You can do it!

Don't beat yourself up. You'll be 100% smoke free shortly - that evod kit is miles ahead of the cig-a-likes.

You are not alone and this place is littered with good peeps who've struggled with this. You feel bad because you want to be done with the analogs NOW. That's actually a good thing - you yearn to vape, not to smoke. Get the right gear (which you have coming) and you're golden. You got this.

I've heard of that a lot. Sometimes it's just breaking an old habit n sometimes the vape isn't strong enough. The evod should be better vapor than a cicalike. Try using 1.8 ohm coils if u need a warmer vape. N i think 24mg is usually a good strength for pack a day + smokers to start with. Keep on these forums for support. There's always someone around to b a good cheerleader for ya lol

I don't know, when I was screwing around with those cigalikes, I never had really much success to be defeated in the first place. I tried, but it wasn't halfway though the day when my second battery died that I was at the store buying smokes. I almost gave up e-cigs right there, but stuck with it and found it wasn't me...it was the gear I was using. I think you made a good choice getting into a better kit, that's what it took for me. Once I felt reasonably satisfied with vaping, the habit just sort of fell away. It may be different for you, so don't hold yourself to that standard...or anyone elses' for that matter.

I don't think you should beat yourself up too bad. There's a learning curve on these and it takes a little while to figure that out. Do it when you're ready, whether that just inadvertently happens or you make the conscious choice. It's not easy to give up years and years worth of habit overnight...some of us are professional quitters with lots of experience! (Haha.)

I wish you luck on the journey. I think you'll be happy with a good setup and it doesn't take long at all to pay off. I wish I'd seen that wisdom up front, but I was put off by these $70+ buy-in's for a decent kit. Turns out, I shouldn't have been.

Hold on to your cig a like.

While I couldn't quit smoking using one, once you've been vaping for awhile and you make the transition from smoking to vaping a mini is great to take out on shopping trips or when you don't want to be conspicuous about vaping. Great for a stealth vape!

I agree with the 1.8 ohm coils. I was pretty experienced when I bought my first evods, and I automatically ordered 1.8 ohm coils. They will produce a warmer vape.

On EGO batterys I also prefer coils in the 1.8 ohm range. More vapor and a tad warmer vape. Downside is you will be charging your batterys a tad more often. I am fine with that for a more satisfying vape.

I smoked cigarettes while I was introduced to vaping. I had the EGO-C and all tho it was a nice setup it really didn't do much for me...I was a 2 pack a day smoker. I then found ECF. I started reading and finally joined in Nov. 2013.

I bought different setups and really enjoyed vaping and never turned back.

Good Luck to You.

I've tried one of those cigarette looking mods a friend was using and they are terrible. My first mod (4 years ago) was a mech and I recommend them to anyone looking to start. Variable voltage is cool but not for me.

Don't beat yourself up though… you are not alone and once you find a set up that you're happy with, this slip will mean nothing.

I was an Marlboro Ultra Light smoker myself. 12 mg was too much for me. I went to 9 mg and then down to 6 mg in short order. One thing you might find is trouble sleeping at night. If that is the case keep something low nic around to vape in the evenings so the nic doesn't keep you wired too long.

I tried e-cigs last year and was very frustrated with them. The first drag or two was satisfying, but after that nothing. So after a year of going back to cigarettes, I decided to do some research and like you, it was the gear I was using. I got my new set up last week and haven't had a cigarette since I got it. I'm very satisfied and can't wait to try different juices.

You've got this! I'm cheering for you :)

I tried cigalikes. Spent more time messing with them trying to get them to work than I did actually using them. The outcome wasn't good...

Got a PV a week ago, haven't had a stink stick since. Was a PPD lights smoker, and 18 mg juice was too much. Dropped to 12 during the day and 6 after supper. That combo is working well, I hope I can lower it more in the next few weeks.

You can do this, just don't get discouraged if you fall off the wagon now and then. What's important is that you get back on the wagon after you fall.
