I don't know, when I was screwing around with those cigalikes, I never had really much success to be defeated in the first place. I tried, but it wasn't halfway though the day when my second battery died that I was at the store buying smokes. I almost gave up e-cigs right there, but stuck with it and found it wasn't me...it was the gear I was using. I think you made a good choice getting into a better kit, that's what it took for me. Once I felt reasonably satisfied with vaping, the habit just sort of fell away. It may be different for you, so don't hold yourself to that standard...or anyone elses' for that matter.
I don't think you should beat yourself up too bad. There's a learning curve on these and it takes a little while to figure that out. Do it when you're ready, whether that just inadvertently happens or you make the conscious choice. It's not easy to give up years and years worth of habit overnight...some of us are professional quitters with lots of experience! (Haha.)
I wish you luck on the journey. I think you'll be happy with a good setup and it doesn't take long at all to pay off. I wish I'd seen that wisdom up front, but I was put off by these $70+ buy-in's for a decent kit. Turns out, I shouldn't have been.
