Hi All,

Its been three weeks since I am vaping and this week I have experienced something which never in my life happened before.

Lets Start from first day of vaping:
With my new kit I ordered 24MG tobacco Cartriges, I used to smoke 10-15 analogs a day. As soon as I receievd the kit I just assembled ecig and started vaping....after about 15-20 puffs in an Hour (at Work can't chain vape) I had starange headache especially sides of my head were buzzing. Well I realised that 24MG is too high for me so ordered 14MG flavours afterwards, it went ok till now....

2 days ago I was at my Unlces (Persuaded him to quit smoking and start vaping which he did) we vaped quite a bit (may be 1 to 2 ml of juice). thats within 3 hours. After that i started feeling funny, first Ifelt it was too hot and opened the windows whereas every one else was saying its freezing. Secondly I felt that I have problem in breathing like I can not breathe properly more precisely I have to concetrate on breathing to make sure I Dont stop breathing....Now it was time to leave at this point and my uncles lives some 20 miles away from us....While driving back home it got worse and I felt I was going to Pass Out and will cause a serious accident...Though nothing happened and I managed to drive home.... At home the symptoms got even worse.. I could not figure out why it was happening, I felt like I could not speak properly, I could not concentrate on things, My heart Beat was very fast, and I was scared that I am going to die....I had no pain what so ever I mean not in Head, not in my chest, I thought may be heavy dinner has caused it so tried to go on short walk with Mrs but 5 paces and I felt like i am going to fall on the floor...So mainly it was breathing and lack of control (or i felt i am going to loose control on my body)...

Phoned ambulance but they refered to nurse who spoke with me on phone for half an hour and reckoned i should take paracetamol and try to relax..... Stragely in about 90 minutes i started getting back to normal and i was normal in 3 hours...

Went to doctor he took some tests and am still to get results..He could not figure out what it was...

Sorry for the long story but I wanted to explain what exactly i felt and still I dont know why exactly it happened. Was it nicotine over dose? Was it something to do with effects of chain vaping? was it result of big heavy dinner indigestion (though i dint have any pains/gas etc)? Was it smoking withdrawal effects? OR was it combination of all above????

Since that happened my sleep is disturbed though these symptoms did not appear at the same intensity. Today at work after getting fedup with RY4 14MG i switched to a cartrige which had 24mg vanilla.... after vaping equivalent of 3 fags Simlar symptoms (but Very very mild) appeared again.

Now I am really worried that what it is and why is it happening. This whole thing has scared me very much, I love vaping but dont want serious health problems...

Summary:
Symptoms:
Feeling hot and sweaty
Breathing difficulty:Feeling like I will stop breathing
Feeling like I am loosing control on my body (Never really lost control though)
High rate of heart beat
Dizziness
Really Tired afterwards

(I am 28 year old in perfect shape, play football and badminton 3 times a week always being healthy)

Please let me know if any one else experienced similar thing and advise me what exactly it could be so that I am careful

Sorry for long post and thanks in Advance

Even 1-2 mL of 14 mg juice in 3 hours is a lot of nic. I am NOT a doctor, but you are describing, at least to me, low level nic toxicity. I am a heavy vapor, but I would be feeling the same symptoms if I went through that much nic in a couple three hours. I am generally vaping 14 mg, and 2 mL is about what I go through in a day. That it gradually went away after you stopped vaping also points to this. I think your doctor does not understand details of vaping nic...actually most do not. If you want to vape that heavily, use lower nic, like 6 mg. Of course the exact amount is a personal thing, but certainly use lower nic if you want to vape that much.

Too much nic late at night will also disrupt sleep. And you cannot equate vaping with smoking, almost in any way, other than the physical activity similarity. Vaped nic is absorbed almost entirely orally and in the throat, NOT the lungs, as it is in smoking. This means slower absorption and longer in the system, with slower blood levels tapering off compared to smoking. So if you are vaping and feel sick from nic, changes are even if you stop vaping you will still feel yourself getting sicker for a while before you start to feel better. The nic is still trickling into the system for a while. Not nearly the case with smoking, which is fast absorption, and faster decay.

OTOH, if it comes back and you are either not vaping or vaping much lower, there may be another medical issue that you need to get checked out. But this certainly sounds like standard nic overuse to me. A long way from life threatening, but not at all fun.

I get similar symptoms when I overdose on nicotine. One thing different about vaping is the 20-30 minute lag time for the inhaled nicotine to kick in or dissipate when you stop.

First sign of the hot and sweaty, stop vaping and drink water-lots of water. With the breathing fear, go open a window and take deep breaths of fresh air. Blow you nose so it is as clear as can be and relax. Distract yourself and stop thinking about not breathing. Within 20-30 minutes you should be back to normal. I think the breathing fear is more from anxiety, but I know what you are talking about. It's rather scary.

Definitely get some lower nic eliquids and even some plain VG/PG or no nic juices for late at night and chain vaping.

I'm good at 12 mg and too much 18mg will make me overdose if I chain vape. 24mg I'm only good for a few drags then a long break from vaping. Know your limits.

You'll get used to it soon enough and you'll have less anxiety when you feel it coming on.

All this is of course assuming the doc finds nothing wrong with you.

It does sound like a nicotine overdose. I am a heavy vaper and normally use 24 and 18 mg, but if I chain vape it, I can definitely feel my heart rate change. That's my cue to slow down and let it mellow.

Also, certain flavorings do not agree with certain people. I tried my stepson's menthol e-juice and I damn near felt I was going to pass out and die within a few puffs.

I agree Robin, It sounds exactly like a panic or anxiety attack. I've known several people that got panic attacks frequently. It is usually treated with a pill in the diazipam (valium) family, I believe it's called ativan. Symtoms usually cease when the patient alleviates their anxiety and stress. It can be very debiliatating so take care of yourself.

The first incident you describe sounds like a severe nic OD, and there are a couple of reasons why this is more likely to happen after a very heavy meal.

Sounds as if your nicotine tolerance is lower than usual, which is a good thing in one way as a very low level will probably do the trick for you. Instead of vaping the strongest stuff you can get, it is probably better to vape the weakest mix you can get away with. In other words, if you can vape 6mg most of the time with no cravings for a cigarette, it's job done. If you occasionally get a craving, hit it with 12mg just for 5 or 10 minutes.

The highest nicotine level needed is one that satisfies 90% of the time, and for the 10% when you need more, then use a higher strength. It's probably the wrong way round to use the strongest possible stuff then wonder why you don't feel well - instead, go low and just use the strong stuff when you need it.

What Rolly said. As I read your post, I thought nic overdose, followed by a panic attack. This has happened to most of us and we learn to recognize the symptoms early and put down the Ecig. I'm glad you went to a doctor and got checked out, though.

Remember the first time you smoked a cigarette and got a little giddy? Then, you thought that if one can make you feel that cool, then another will be better. That's when the nic OD hit you and you buzzed all over and felt sick.

Finding the right nic level is key. Start low since you were a light smoker. As Rolly said, the right level is one that takes away the desire for a cigarette.

It does sound like too much nicotine. Since I'm getting into flavors now, I have to be really careful that I don't vape too much because I love the flavor or the same thing happens to me sometimes. Sooooo, I started mixing my own mostly VG juices. A nicotine content of 6-9 mg. is working great for me. I used to smoke 12-15 ultra-light analogs per day.
