So guys, I bought my second battery + widgets ever recently, and being a complete noob, I had no idea what voltage to use.

I ordered 2 eGo-C Twist batteries. I believe the Twist goes from 3.2-4.8volts

I ordered empty BOGE cartridges, which I just found out are around 3ohm

I also ordered an EVOD BCC, which is roughly 1.8ohms.

Here is what I found out. For the EVOD BCC, at 1.8ohms, you want to vape at around 3-4volts. Me personally, I found that 3.4-3.6volts is just perfect.

The problem I had was with the BOGE cartomizers. Since I didn't know what ohm they were, and how that even relates to what voltage they are, I kept my twist on around 3.4volts, the same I was using for the evod.

I figured the BOGE cartomizers just sucked, and pretty much made up my mind I didn't like them.....at all. There wasn't much vapor, a VERY weak flavor, and just overall I wasn't getting a decent hit, no matter how much I struggled.

I was afraid to turn the voltage up, because I didn't want to break the atomizer.

Anyway, long story short, someone posted a chart in one of my threads in this forum. The chart explains how many voltages you want to use, per ohms.

I found out the BOGE cartos need HIGH voltage. Around 4-5volts. I changed the voltage from 3.4, to 4.6....and WOW. SUCH A HUGE DIFFERENCE. No WONDER the cartos weren't doing a good job! I wasn't using a high enough voltage!

Anyway, just wanted to make sure you fellow newbies didn't make the same mistake I did.

If you have an ego twist, make sure you found out what ohms the device you are using has, and adjust the voltage accordinly :)

Good advice.

Also for new people using eGo's, they need to understand that eGo's have the weak 2.5 amp switch. Some low resistence and dual coil cartomizers to name just two, will not work with an ego. People sometimes try these attys/cartos and think the carto/atty is defective when in reality it's the limitation of the eGo line of PV's.

In order to use any attys/cartos/tanks on the market (other than -.09 ohm), you need a PV with a 3.5 amp - 5 amp switch. The better the switch the more versatility you will have.

I think all vapers should invest in a milti-meter (even an inexpensive one) if their e-cig doesn't have a readout for ohms.

Also, try this formula:

voltage = square root of (8 * ohms)

to get you in the ballpark if you don't have a chart handy. The 8 represents watts (many like 8 watts). For DCC stuff you have to double the watts because there's two coils (or double the ohms...same diff). Also Volts = SQR(desired_watts * ohms) for a more generic formula.
