Just a little something for those that might feel there is no slippery slope on 4th amendment rights....and that what goes on at airports is going to be restricted to airports. Also touches on what I mentioned earlier about other forms of transport.

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano hinted this week that the body scanners and "enhanced" pat-downs that have caused a ruckus at airports across the country could be coming to a train station, port or subway near you.

It May Be Time for Trains, Ships and Mass Transit to Use Body Scanners, Napolitano Says - FoxNews.com

And what target did the the idiot in Portland choose? Not an airplane or any other form of transport.....but a Christmas tree lighting ceremony. Trampling on the fourth amendment won't make us a single stitch safer, so why do it?[/QUOTE]

Because they can!

Sheeple are too afraid to stand up. They want the government to protect them from everything as long as they can watch cable tv and get fast food.

No politician will stand up and do the right thing because if / when the next act happens everyone will be all over them and they won't take that risk for their political career.

Yet another case of the TSA doing this thing half-baked. Apparently the rubber gloves they wear are for the agent's protection....not passengers. They don't change gloves between searches. So if the person in front of you has lice or the flu....you may have it after the search.

Syphilis, lice, gonorrhea, ringworm, chlamydia, staph, strep, noro and papilloma viruses all are part of the possible fringe benefits when airline passengers next go through a full hands-on pat-down by agents of the federal government's Transportation Security Administration, according to doctors.

WND reported two days ago on alarmed passengers who noted that TSA agents doing the pat-downs that have been described by critics as molestation since they include touching private body parts were not changing gloves between passengers. In fact, some apparently were patting down dozens of passengers or more wearing the same gloves.

Doctors sound TSA germ alert

If you want clean gloves on your particular groper....you must request it. Nice.....huh?

Hey guys we can't look at this so negatively, honestly I find this a slight plus:)

Now those who post to argue may be brainstorming comebacks for this already buut think about it, at least now we have more of a reason to vape after or during a pat down and convert our fellow analog using Americans to our vaping culture. END

P.s I agree with the sexy female pat down I mean hey if I'm paying 250 to see my family I might as well get a goodtime out of it, and those women thinking I'm sick for saying this

Honestly put it this way would you rather be felt up by the hillbilly with a badge or some hot woman? Hell if you want get the diesel looking guard.
In my head I look at it like this we can get those girls out of the clubs and on tsa making our government feel even that much more empowered eventhough we have 18 year holds proving themselves truer Americans than half our government leaders HAVE EVER BEEN!

My soapbox vent on the whole scanning thing....This is a timely post for me, because i was just getting rightously indignant all over the place today when i heard on news that an attractive woman...maybe a model of some sort?...was all up in arms because she'd been chosen to be scanned and she was sure it was because she was attractive. Ummm...Ok. So what's new in this? I'm not advocating it in ANY way, totally the opposite in fact, but when I was a young hot thang me and my friends used to get pulled over all the time by cops for ridiculous reasons. There is nothing in any way new about guys who have a little bit of power and the ability to 'choose' who to exert it on making the choice to pull over, pat down, or chat up women they find attractive. Sheesh. Newsworthy? Maybe. Something new horrible affront to women? Don't think so...been happening for ages..just the technology has changed. That doesn't make it right, mind you...more ridiculously base human nature. I don't know..i find this whole brouhaha over the scanning thing ridiculous. I think it's MUCH less discriminatory and destructive to society as a whole to have people go thru a scanner which basically shows the general outline of a body than to have airport security personnal choosing who to search based on their own preconceived notions and biases solely based on the way someone looks..apparent nationality, whatever. Totally don't mean to offend anyone by the way..this is 100% my opinion alone and you're certainly entitled to a differing one. And yes, of course the physical 'pat down' (which sounds waaay understated based on what you're saying they actually do, btw..yeesh! Sounds horrible!) is going to be more invasive. I'm guessing its also more time intensive, so they're likely to do anything they can to deter people from choosing that option because they wanna do as few of them as possible, but that's just my guess. Man, i get that this is an of the moment issue, so there's gonna be all sorts of people raising a ruckus about it, but all the newscoverage has been crazy about this. I'm talking 3d imaging, not the invasive searches..those just sound horrible. But every time there's a scare, people go ballistic about all the safety measures that weren't taken. Well, they're taking a safety measure here, so people need to weigh the positives against the negatives. That said, the searches sound extreme and i'm sure will result in lawsuits left and right. Being patted down is one thing...being indecently pawed is entirely another. And just because they have someone of the same sex doing it means very little, imho. There are predators who prefer same sex victims just like opposite sex ones...you'll have some reaaaaallly bad apples in every bunch, unfortunately. Sad.

BTW, Nursecin...cracking up!

O.K I am a guy and work on a Tow-Boat on the Mississippi river and tributaries, so I travel at least twice a month to various locations. I have been against the screening process for a long time now even before the scanners! I only state these to add some background to my following statement. To those of you who say they are "professionals" granted some are, but for the most part I have seen people act more professional when they hand my burger and fries out the window or ask me if I need a cart!

Those who are from America, who have been subjected to inappropriate behaviour by DHS/TSA agents in airports, please remember you have recourse. You are within your rights, and have the responsibility to contact your State Representatives, Congressional and Senatorial. You have elected them to represent YOU. They are YOUR representatives! They have created DHS/TSA and are responsible for its behaviour. They are responsible for reighning in the beast they have created. Your are responsible for voicing your displeasure to those who you elected to represent you.

Yes, I am a woman ("hear me roar!" LOL). I am of majority age to vote. I know how to use a telephone, computer, and any other means of communication. There is an old, sexist joke: Three best forms of communication... Telegraph, telephone, tell a woman. Well, girls, start telling State Representatives, "we're not gonna take it anymore!" This has become absolutely ridiculous.

My Uncle Benny was right, all those years ago in Philadelphia. "Never p.I.s.s. off the man who buys ink by the pound." We have more than ink now. And we've "come a long way, baby"... Are we going to allow inhumane treatment of ourselves, children, mothers, grand-mothers, aunties, BFFs?

Hell knows no fury like a woman! Man the phones & computers to wish our Representatives "Happy Holidays"
