Ok I had some time to play with Cartomizers and Atomizers today.
I must say dripping with 510 Atomizers is amazing!
I got a 510 bridged (SS mesh) Atomizer, and that's the first time I could actually taste the flavor of the Dragon series from ECBlends, I almost threw this liquid to the trash, so that was a perfect test!

On the other hand, I switched the mesh Cartomizer I had on my DCT (because it gives me burnt taste once in a while) to a regular one (with polyfill wick and bigger punch slots) but it just make it worth and now I cannot really feel the flavor of the liquid... so I think I'll switch back to the mesh Cartomizer I used before but I'll make it's punch slots larger.

For 510 Atomizers and DCT Cartomizers, what's your favorite brand? I think its just because I got cheap stuff and maybe Boge/IKV would give me a better experience.

Also, for dripping, do you recommend a 510 Atomizer with bridge or bridgeless?

Thanks again! :)

1. If wick materials in Clearomizer's prevent from getting the best flavor, why most of the rda still using them? I know there is an option to use steel mesh (as in 510 dripping Atomizers) in rda, but still most of the pictures I see, still choosing to use wicks.
IMHO, it amounts to "surface area" or "volume" of the wick material. Look at how small the silica wick is inside the coil in a clearomizer. It's TINY.

RDA/RBA coils and wicks are HUGE comparatively.

2. Are there any Clearomizers that using silica wicks and high quality materials as in RBAs, to get the best flavor?
For example, the Aspire BDC sucks IMO, I really feel like the tank ״drains״ (cuts?) most of the flavor out of the liquid...
I don't own one, but I have vaped from a buddy's Aspire Nautilus. I'm not sure of the internals (wick & coil), but I know its a clearomizer which also has some air control options which I believe help to provide a better vape. This buddy also does RDA's and says the Nautilus to be every bit as good. I have to say that I was impressed with the limited time I got to try it.

I don't really use drip atomizers, so I'm the wrong person to ask this question. My vaping buddies use a bridgeless atomizer.

For cartomizers, I prefer Ikenvape Platinum standard resistance or the Ikenvape 510-Fusion standard resistance. They are very similar to me; the Plats are flangeless and the Fusions have a flange. These both seem to provide better flavor and last longer in a tank. If those aren't available, I use Smoktech 3.0 ohm single coil cartomizers.

Thanks I'll try to follow IKV inventory updates, the mega fusion are never in stock :X

About the Nautilus, I don't remember being that impressed with it, although I only tried it for few minutes at my friends house to check out the air control feature, but I don't remember getting an amazing flavor out of it...

BTW I think that's the stock setup in its ceramic coil:

Hi Guys (and gals),

I have few questions about Cartomizer-tanks (such as the DCT),

1. What's their advantages on "traditional" Clearomizer tanks?
More consistent and warmer vapor, less fiddling, no leaking, i could go on a bit...
2. Why shouldn't I fill liquid in the middle (inside the Cartomizer) if anyway I'm doing 2 punch holes to get liquid from the tank into the Cartomizer?
Your cartomizers pull liquid from the sides from what i can tell. My cartos are always mostly dry. In 6+ months of cartotank use ive experienced maybe 2 dry hits, and both were user error. When using cartos without a tank and center filling it was not consistent
3. Is there any tank that won't spill all my liquid when I accidentally pull the tank up?
No, but once the tank is in place for about 20 minutes it forms a seal and does hold surprisingly well. Ive never had this happen, I make a habit of grabbing the battery when i remove it from my pocket.
4. Is it take a while between puffs to get more liquid inside the Cartomizer? because right now I feel like if I let it stand for few seconds I get amazing flavor, but if I vape a lot often, I start to get burnt taste (like a dry Atomizer) after few puffs, then I let it rest for few seconds and I get a good flavor again... any reason why? it happens even when I'm using only 7w so I don't think overvolt/overwattage is the cause...
I can chain vape my carto tank dry and not get a dry hit. Im using Boge LR laser drilled cartos at about 8W with an ibtanked 22mm standard

Thanks!

Answers in Comic Sans in quote above. Also i have a few blogs on carto tanks, and even more than me baditude(posted above) has a wealth of knowledge on carto tanks in his blogs. If youre new to them or interested they are worth checking out

edit: I didnt realize there was 3 pages here for some reason, sorry im late to the party
