It might be a bit ridiculous for a veteran cigarette smoker to be picky or even slightly concerned about the nitty gritty of propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin, but anyway.

Since i started vaping, i chose to use VG, simply because i've always, well since i was a kid, i've known glycerin to be widely use in foods, medically and in everything from soaps to toothpaste, even bubblers for little kids. I vape on a Joye 510, i can't say i was very happy with the inconsistent results of the stock cart and the sad filler on it, specially when you try to refill it with thick vg based juice, so now and then i'll just drip right into the atty, a drop or two for awesome clouds of vapor, i have recently done the ptb mod on some carts and it seems to work awesome, so in terms of vapor quantity i love VG based juices, i recently ordered 3 or 4 small 5 ml bottles of PG based juice just to see what (if anything) i was missing with PG stuf, first tfhing i noticed was how watery these juices are compared to vg, also i see how some people are allergic to the stuff, at least the ones i ordered feel hot on your tongue if you happen to taste it accidentaly like i have after a small leak and is no wonder since 22% of the PG in the US is used in the manufacture of antifreeze/de-icing products, vg too has antifreezing properties though.

VG is somewhat sweet and in fact is considered a light sweetener and i wonder if that makes it a better base for fruity/sweet ejuices?

What are your thoughts on PG vs VG, what do people prefer and why? Anyone else here feels more at ease coating their lungs with VG instead of PG?

Yes, i've heard flavor and throat hit is way better with pg and yes sir, either or is a lot better than the other junk we left behind. Both are water soluble and easily metabolized, if anything certain people can be allergic to one or the other or both i heard.

Bottom line is i need to try a 60/40 mix too and see how that goes, i'm curious to know wheter you buy your juice that way or cut it yourself?

The PG we use is different than the type used in antifreeze.PG has been inhaled previosly from inhalers and fog machines not to mention using it in hospitals in the 40's to help prevent the spread of diseases.Ive never heard anything about inhaling VG.I use a mix in my liquid.Im more worried about the VG and flavorings than the PG.I guess we are the test and we will see the results down the road.I wish us luck.

i buy 100% pg, making sure it is one with a very strong flavor, and then i dilute it wih vg i get at a crafts store. you can pick up vg almost anywhere. i used to get it from a kitchen supply store when i was a cook. hope that helps answer some of your questions

oh, and don't go by my mixing ratio. i started out at a 90/10 pg/vg mix and kept adding to it until i found what usually works for me. and not all of my flavors are that mix. i just find that for me, 60/40 is about my norm. and i get my flavors from everywhere. vapor4life, tastyvapor, rathjuice, dekang; you name it, i am trying it.

Oh wow, what are the symptoms rhino, if you dont mind sharing? :)

Everyone's symptoms seem to be different from others, and some are the same as others.....But i will list My personnel symtoms here....

Dry Mouth
Dry Skin
Rashes
Itching uncontrollably
My teeth became very sensitive

These are just some of the symptoms that i can remember from PG....I know there were more but these were the major ones....At least for me those symptoms played a major role in my decision to give VG Based Juice a try....But everybody reacts differently....So please don't take this in the wrong way....Cause i certainly don't want to scare you away from Vapeing....Hope this helps:)

To be honest, i'm not really worried about either, if anything that would be the compounds on flavorings and how they react at different temperatures and even that won't keep me awake at night, i'm tobacco free and that's worth gold lol

VG has been used in small ml quantities in the form of enema/suppository as a laxative, body builders take it to promote aminoacid production and aid on muscle grow, it can cure or treat halitosis by dissicating bacteria on contact, etc etc etc, i doubt it would affect the lungs in any way, heck i've heard of people exhaling thru their nose to alleviate nasal congestion.

I read a post on the effects of PG on rats. Can't remember where it was but you can try and google it or search. In summary they supplied rats with a much higher dose than usual for long period of time. During autopsy they did not find any harmful effects from PG. Before this I was a little suspicious but after this I am less concerned.
