Sorry to hear this. I don't know much about Fibromyalgia but I read something the other day(can't remember where it was as i was just surfing through a bunch of info) that there was a new study out about Fibromyalgia somehow being caused by extra(?) veins in the hands. You might be able to Google it and see what shows up! Wish I could be more helpful to ya!

My wife actually has been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. She had similar issues when starting vaping. Her solution was to hydrate more, as vaping is a very dehydrating habit. As soon as she found more water in her routine her pain went back to more acceptable levels.

Best of luck with this, and what you're doing is certainly better than smoking!

I have been diagnosed with FM since 1994. My first thought was I wonder if it is raining there. That always makes me feel so much worse. I did not get worse when I started vaping. Some things even got better. It's hard to tell because it has only been a week and there are so many other issues that factor in with someone with FM. Because of all the benefits over smoking, I would say give it time. Sorry not much help. Good luck though. Let us know how you are doing. This is a wonderful forum for information and support.

So sorry to hear your Fibromyalgia is worse, I agree with Dufftime, stay hydrated and possibly it is the effects of quitting smoking, my arthritis acted up like crazy after about 3 days of being off the analogs. I'm at two months and things have started to settle down, then again it might have been going to flare up anyway and I'm just blaming it on the vaping. Hope your feeling better soon.

Hi VapHer!
I'm a suspected fibro sufferer as well, doctor doesn't want to outright say that's what it is until he's got nothing left to go with, but he's mentioned it every time I've seen him and I've gone through a few meds for it. Anyway, when I switched to vaping I was still smoking some. In the beginning I did notice more pain on days I smoked less, I also noticed more dehydration. So more water was the 1st thing I tried. It helped some. The longer I was vaping, the less I was smoking, and it all finally started to calm down. Now I've been vaping for almost 2 years and not smoking at all for 15 months. My flares and general pain evened out to my "normal" range and frequency after I bumped my nicotine level up to 30mg for that final few weeks of quitting smoking. I think it's what finally allowed me to quit smoking too. I went back to a 24mg level after finally quitting and everything is back to my version of normal pain wise.
You do have to remember that most everyone goes through some sort of withdrawal symptoms when they quit smoking, even if they are now vaping. Those symptoms have a wide range and I've noticed that new issues/symptoms are more prominent and harder to deal with than the ones we are used to having on a daily basis, so it stands to reason that dropping the cigarettes is the problem here. That is a lot of chemicals you are no longer getting so your body has to get used to the change. So keep at it!! It will even out eventually.

If you quit smoking and started vaping, you've sent your body into a bit of a shock due to "the change". As you know, if you change something, you're going to feel it because of the fibro. Get off schedule, a flare up.. change a routine, a flare up..

Hopefully, it will pass and ease for you!

(Wife and I both have fibro, hers is extreme, mine is minor.. [err yea.. LOL])

So I started vaping just about a week ago. I don't know if its a coincidence or not but my Fibromyalgia is worse since i started vaping. Any ideas?

i have FM, so bad i was retired. many aspects of fibro are caused by the brain. so? since you are changing your lifestyle i IMHO would say it is not the vape, i am into my 1 month stage and am completely unchanged......... good luck
