Soak carto in iso/water mix or vodka or mouthwash for overnight in an empty (well marked and secured from children) pop bottle then take turkey baster/child syringe and rinse vigorously with water/vodka.
Set oven to 80~95C/180~195F, Just below boiling point.
Place wet cartos on small baking dish or bone china type plate.
Go do something fun and borderline legal for 2 to 3 hours.
Water in carto's will turn to steam and sterilize carto,
Carto won't care about 95c heat, insulator for +/- made from silicon rubber and is heat resistant, polyfiller unaffected under the 95c/195F threshold.
Refill and vape like a boss.

I have done this to over 20 carto's and all came out fully functional, I even popped a couple in the oven on a metal dish beside the Wifes roast at 350F and forgot about them, after 1.5 hours they came out with filler a light golden brown like a slight tan, I got morbid curious and tried them, they worked but obviously tasted cooked, point being they can take the 95c/195f for hours without problem just don't cook past the boiling point.
Dangers-None, even if the carto's burst into flames the oven would contain and snuff out the fire with lack of fresh air and temps required to make the carto do this would be ridiculously high.
(E9 and Boge 510 cartomizers used)

If a carto gets vaped too dry and scorches the filler, nothing and nobody on earth can get that taste out, even trying to mask it with a really strong juice won't work.
In this event grab hand tools and do post-mortem surgery, this is fun and educational, if done careful enough you can remove the steel tube and unwrap the center assembly and have just the connector and coil assembly. You can now place on a big battery and fire until l the coil pops while you laugh maniacally and adjust your lab goggles.

Never ever try heat treatments for plastic tanks or clearomizers, the clear plastics are not heat resistant to any extent.

slojas,
I'm going to have to try that! I just threw away the one with the plugged up hole. The burnt one works for me more like a dripping carto. Tastes great with a few drops on top, but I have to stop and top off before too long. I was just watching syringe tank mods vids and was hoping to make one of those. I'll need a bad carto to punch out the hole, so I guess they are good for something! A really inexpensive way to get a non-cracking tank, too!
