Hello all, I'm sure this has been covered somewhere, but I can't find it.

I'm wondering if there is a rule of thumb for how long a filled carto stays good. Does the juice evaporate out of the fill very quickly.
I'm still pretty new to vaping, and what's working for me now is to just have a five pack of cartos that I fill and carry around.
five last me about two days.
I just put on a new one that I know was filled two days ago and the flavor seems to be gone much faster than normal. Was wondering if maybe some of the juice evaporated. The carto has only been refilled a couple of times so I don't think it's gone off.

Any thoughts or personal experience welcome.

thanks!

I have some cige-like cartos i bought around 5 years ago which are still vapable. They are sealed in shrink-wrap though.
When ever i pre-fill cartos i put them in a tiny ziplock bag and stick the condoms back on and they seem to stay fresh. I recently tried a butterscotch one that i filled last year and the taste was good.
Probably zero nic by now though !

thanks for the reply ppeeble.
I didn't know that about the nic. It diminishes over time?

Most knowledgeable people say that the nicotine will lose its potency over time. The general consensus is around 24 months at average conditions, up to 48-60 months at ideal conditions (frozen).
Personally i can't taste the difference. If a carto still tastes good and satisfies me then i can live with diminished nicotine.

here lately I have noticed that my cartomizers aren't lasting as long either....I've had them 3 to 4 months and keep refilling them...but now it seems that they are only lasting me a day or two before I have to refill...at first I thought it was just because I've been only vaping no smoking for the past month....but I'm starting to think it's time to toss them and get new ones. Maybe the atty is having to work more and thus burning up the juice more...not really sure but hey...they've lasted this long so I can't say too much.

I've heard some people say that they were only able to refill there's 2 or 3 times other people weeks...mine have lasted 3 to 4 months...
you can also try to clean them and see if that helps....unfortunately cleaning mine didn't seem to help so I think my atty's are dying in the cartomizers

I've had cartos sitting loaded for a few months with no issues. Juice will last on the shelf for a couple of years anyways. PG is antimicrobial, so it doesn't let anything grow in it. One thing that might get funky after a year are some of the flavors used. I think organic would be worse for that. In the end, I don't worry about it, but that's just me.

ah sorry misread the topic as shelf life as in how many reuses lolol shelf life as in actual shelf life :D

well seeing that what prefills you buy sit around in a warehouse then shipped to stores and sit there....shelf life shouldn't be an issue...just use the good old shake and roll between your palms to move the juice to the end of the cartomizer and all should be good to vape no mater how long it's sat....
